PC 2 has been running at a tollerable speed...now all of the sudden it is very slow...I have frame rate at 30 fps and all other settings at a low setting....I checked my laptop for virus and malware...all is good there...even ran disk checkup all is fine...anything else I could check...I really don't want to uninstall and re install the game..

It seems this game has a mind of its own!!!...after setting all the options for graphics at low...it changed them all back to factor settings...I think its haunted!!!!

tips for laptops,

run off mains, battery use cuts the CPU and GPU (not onboard mind you) down to save power,

turn off power saving mode and use full power mode with no turn off for HDD, no sleep and no screen saver

turn off everything in the background, eg clean boot, just load the default AV, not some poor 3rd party non game friendly AV, as everything loaded at boot will just sit there and use Ram and CPU power, plain and simple,

use a SSD, not a low powered and slower 5400 HDD,

rams cheap, so have plenty of it, not the bare min,

don't try and play games on a cheap and nasty onboard GPU, forget it, it's not for gaming and was built for office use only,....

if using a HDD, make sure it's kept defragged, doesn't matter for SSD

make sure it's using all the latest bios version for main board and all the latest most newest and most stable version of drivers, so no beta or anything older than a few months etc etc.

and when all else fails, ask your self, how old is the install of windows on the pc, if it's more than a year or so, then do yourself a favour and do a clean install, loads faster, has less errors and is always more stable.
