Slitherine

I need to be able to use both simultaneously to troubleshoot scenarios. I use one in campaign mode and the other in scenario editor.
The Slitherine version gets stuck on the Play opener and Steam says it's already running.
Slitherine stuck opening: any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

I can't find an outputlog text file but I have attached the DxDiag.zip file.
Also, when the Slitherine version starts, I get this --
"Do you want this app to make changes to your device?" as if it were reinstalling every time I open it. I click yes and it opens fine, as long as the Steam version isn't running.
This is all a result of me switching to a new computer. The dual-instance running was fine before I got a new laptop and I'm just looking for some hints to try to troubleshoot this issue.

I renamed the shortcuts to distinguish them easily:

I always start the Steam version first and Slitherine second because Steam sometimes think it is already running.

It doesnt matter what order i start tham and I can tell the icons apart

When I tried this, I had the impression that the issue is that both installations share the same \Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2 folder. In particular, the Settings folder. This appears to confuse both of them.

The settings may be a problem when run the first time after installation.
But it has not been an issue for after I saved the same settings when running either version.
At least everything works smooth for me and have done for about 1/2 a year now.
I participated in beta using Steam (the only way beta is accessible now). Afterwards I opted out of the beta, maybe had to reset settings so that the versions were in sync.

Erik is right, if you start the Steam version first, from Steam, and then start the Slitherine version from the desktop, it works.
