"At 10 or more collapse points Britain will be liable to sudden death with a % chance per turn equaling her
amassed collapse points multiplied by 2 if:
London is lost OR Britain is starving,
and either one of the following conditions are met:
- Cairo and Alexandria are lost
- India is lost
- France has surrendered and Dublin is lost to Irish Uprising"

Somehow UK surrendered even if London is held and Britain not starving (German navy gone), is the manual outdated?

Most likely Britain surrendered because of negative morale, the most common reason for surrendering.

Did a major ally surrender the turn before? This usually leads to a major loss of morale.

Was Britain already at 10+ collapse points?

A nation that has amassed 10 or more collapse points will lose morale and manpower each turn as it loses its internal stability although it might be able to go on for quite a few more turns until it totally breaks down.

Under certain conditions having 10 or more collapse points also exposes a nation to the dangers of SUDDEN DEATH, equaling a surrender of that nation. Specific details per nation are given on the next pages.

The nation-specific "Sudden Death" rules usually only come into play if for one weird reason specific nations at 10+ collapse points still are at high morale and could go on for quite a while.

Aha, missed the "also" clause.

Was at 9 collapse I think with ca 50% morale, no other nation surrendered same turn so seemed rather sudden. Almost a bit funny, same turn Mainz is taken and the Ruhrgebeit open for conquest with the Western Front collapsed, they surrender But ofc very tough to program a coherent response to the total strategic situation.

Also, seems strange the UK would surrender at all when US has joined the war, unless physically invaded/starved.

Indeed, it's impossible to foresee all possibilities.

I've combed the scripts in search of a possible cause for the mentioned severe British morale loss. The final "Kaiserschlacht" event could theoretically cause such a loss but as you said it was the Germans who were on the run, not the British.

When that match is over I'd very much appreciate a short summary if you don't mind.

British surrender means match over, instant surrender. Brits had lost Egypt to riots, but were holding Abidan. Maybe India revolt then happened and triggered massive morale loss? Germans pushed back beyond Mainz with mostly artillery and planes in the frontline while Italy and Swiss Allied with front near Bologna.
