Roadblock

After the first clash, British fighters fled and never appeared back. So It turns impossible to shoot them down.

It is odd that you seem to have constant AI air unit issues. It worked for me when I played through the scenarios.

No problem with air units here. 1 P40, 1 Hurri, 1 Beaufighter showed up to be properly downed. I suspect that if you use different air units for the Chinese, this would be the problem.
