Hello, everyone, soon I will start posting here my AARs from my playthrough Game Battlefield Europe v2.0 Realistic Mod.

Its gonna be fun sharing this, which is the most realistic experience I had so far in strategy games.
My advice is for every veteran player to download and play this Mod.

It really, makes Panzer Corps an unforgetable game experience.

So, this is it, starting my play through experience with this Mod, by sharing an image from the opening video of Battlefield Europe. It puts you in the mood to command this historical operation Barbarossa. It is amazing in sound as well

From the main menu of the game you click new game, and then you select 1941 – 1945 in order to play a realistic experience of WW II, in 99 exciting turns.

In doing you can also earn HEROES during combat. To get one you need at least 30 kills.

After selecting 41-45, press play and you come to this screen. Here you can choose your difficulty setting.

Personally, I advice the General difficulty setting, if you have some experience playing Panzer Corps, otherwise something easier.

Turn 1 Barbarossa realistic June 22, 41, Weather clear, so the air force is assisting us by all their means …

Think of every turn is about a month in real time, so you can plan your moves better.

Notice the Victory conditions are important to remember for a Decisive Victory basically you have to win East and West strategic objectives. Or you can go for a Marginal Victory, which is the case for me, since this my first time with this Mod, and the play through is Blind. Meaning I have no knowledge of this map before, nor I have watched videos, nor I have seen tips and tricks about the whole operation.

However, as I progress I am going to see how other players proceed about it, but only to the extent of current turn, more or less.
Since, I would like to find out how other players, played this operation with 99 turns!

A surprise opening with change of leadership, makes you really think how YOU can do things better, this time. Since, the player knows how history has taken place, and the AI does not. This is an advantage to the human player, on preparing his own strategy.

What a nice briefing this is! And is going to be all the way till the end. In every turn you learn about new types available, raids over the cities that cost 100 prestige, new free units and so on. Actually, do not try to buy new units. I tried after a while by deleting two units, in France, it don happen and I lost the units for good.

Prestige is gained in lot ways. The Turn 1 briefing explains on of them. The cities that generate 50 prestige per turn: Bucharest, Budapest, Paris, Rome, Trondheim and Tunis. Ok message received not lose this cities.

Pop up messages continue with something very important, didn’t notice when I begun and took me some time to find out!
In this version v2.0 Mod units can only be upgraded or purchased in selected cities.

These cities are Germany marked with + symbol, also in cities marked with >> symbol. They are Tripoli, Tobruk, Alexandria, Genova, Venezia, Helsinki, London.
Hm this means that you have to transfer unit to be upgraded to one of this cities. Fortunately they are lots of train line all around, which they use very amusing sound effects to signal
their travels.

I suggest you to pay a small visit to game’s Library, find on the main game menu, and see for your shelf the changes made to this mod, in order to be more realistic. I did not do it from the beginning till, but when I read them I finally understood lots of things about game play.

Notice the cost of replacements, is not the same with basic game, for example Elite cost 75% of the full price time.

Also, due to terrain in N. Afrika there is a penalty in movement if you not use the “Trop” version of the unit.

Finally, we are in the game, but were the units? I see only few in West Europe!

Well they wait for order in the Eastern front to start the operation Barbarossa of course

Notice your starting prestige 3.850 it seems a lot, but there is no prestige per turn as we know it, from Panzer Corps.
You gain prestige by holding the cities mentioned before, winning objectives, cities, airfields etc.
Take care of your bank and spend it wisely…

There is not much to tell about the first Turn in the East. Basically you attack all over the front.
As a tip I say, consider your units, as three Army Groups, North, Center, South. As historically were called and assign objectives for e.g. the next 5 turns, or in 5 months. By October you will enter the Russian Winter, with low temperatures and frozen grounds, enjoy less damage, low ammo, low movement conditions.

How about the Finns?

West front

Lorient, St Nazaire, La Rochelle bases of German fleet and U-Boats.
Submarines are money important, since every U-Boat can earn 50 prestige, when spends one turn on convoy routes marked by $, when they do this they are hunting ships so they spend ammo, watch out. Also, at some point the need to come back for refuels.
To refuel stay in the port for a turn.

Personally I didn’t notice that a U-Boat was low in fuel during 1st turn and I end up with a stranded submarine in the middle of the Atlantic. What a loss! The ports cities are important targets and the AI from Britain will attack shortly.
Decide for guarding units as wells, few are need here for Partisans, the rest can support operations in the East.

All quite in Norway

Greece and Mediterranean: troops stationed, do not forget them they can be transferred to N. Afrika by ship or Air. Leaving few for Greek partisans.
The Fallschirmjägers in Crete are the only paratroopers you have now!

Important NOTICE:

Since, I have only recently decided to make this playthrough available.
There are no screen shots from turn 1 to turn 6.
From turn 7 till turn 16 there will be only sporadic screen shots.
From then on I continue with more screen shots and commentary per turn.

PS I deleted some of the save game files so to make my PC run faster the Game.
