Maps for ancient campaigns

I'm working on a campaign series to play with FOG. I built a strategic rule system (largely taken by "Magna Gracia" by Rob Smith). Now I want to build some scenarios. Does someone know where I can find maps of ancient Greece and Turkey (better Asia Minor)? I need at least the position of cities and the principal road routes. Dimension of cities would be fine too.

Can't help you Mario, but as soon as you have the system up and running let me know so I can use it in a campaign here

simple web search for "maps of ancient greece" will provide a lot of maps
http://plato-dialogues.org/tools/mapindex.htm
about the only "real" road in that area would be "the road of kings" in the Persian Empire.
http://z.about.com/d/ancienthistory/1/0 ... 479-BC.jpg does show the route that the persians followed when they invaded greece. A topographical map of greece would show the passes across the hills. Modern roads probably follow the ancient paths taken across the hills.
http://z.about.com/d/ancienthistory/1/0 ... e-Plan.jpg does show the "roads" in attica.

Mario,
Rarely have I been able to find maps that fit the bill for me. I end of either using a blank outline map or drawing one from scratch using Campaign Cartographer 3 to spice it up.

Hi Mario,
The map for the Successors game is pretty good - covers the area you are interested in, with an area movement system and major cities shown.
Just reissued by GMT games

Another place to look for maps is board games.
The game Civilization works pretty well and you can leave or chop off bits. It start roughly in the modern Albania up to Danube flood plain the whole black sea al thr way to modern Kuwait and then over to Cyrencia and enough of the lower nile and maybe even a touch of the upper depending on where you draw the distinction.

Thanks to all for your input. If someone is interested I have a campaign game ready for Sicily (based on Magna Graecia of Rob Smith, but completely adapted for FOG). Next one should be a game on Asia Minor, but I cannot say when it will be ready (perhaps after summer). All material in Italian language only

"The Historical Geography of Asia Minor" by Ramsay has some excellent maps
http://www.amazon.com/Historical-Geogra ... 1402157517
I developed a point-to-point map of Asia Minor for the Byzantine period some years ago. I can try to dig it out and scan it if you are interested.
