In Oath of Fealty, will the Plantaganet English get Welsh Spears &/or Welsh Archers as mercenaries?

Edward I & his Grandson used them in numbers against the Scots & abriad in Europe, but not sure whether his predecesors used them much.

Just be warned that you don't get that many archers.

Even just a BG would add some shooty steel

The Welsh Archers were without peer, until the Cheshire men came of age....

So, by inference, if one were buying figures for the army a lot of generic medieval protected defensive spear types would be useful?

If you are talking about the English part of the army then that is pretty much the case.

The Welsh are not protected defensive spear.

Armoured & Protected Def Spears is going to be the lion's share of the English Foot - Average at best.
The good boys are going to be Offensive Spears - i.e. the Welsh. Albeit Unprotected.

Put it simply, if history is any guide - You want good foot for the Plantagents, look to the Welsh mercenaries
The English have decent knights - i.e. Lances - but no discipline & not much cop in their Foot.
