Concerns about AI pathing for undrilled infantry

As far as I can tell, the AI is able to path its undrilled heavy foot in ways unavailable to the player.

In the two screenshots I have attached (I am the vikings), showing the position at the end of my turn and then the position at the start of my next turn after the AI has moved, the AI has split its force making a knight move (in chess terms) with all its units either left or right. Shieldwall (14) has been highlighted as a reference point.

Normally to do a knight move as the player the unit will path forward one space then over a diagonal, unless the square in front of the unit is blocked, in which case it will path over a diagonal and then forward. When taking the "usual" route the unit will end its move facing at an angle to its original facing. Maneuverable units can then use their free rotation to point forward again, but undrilled infantry is stuck facing at an angle.

In the AI's case, the AI can execute a knight move by pathing diagonal and then forward seemingly at any point, resulting in the above situation where all its units have moved forward and over but still have their original facing (except for the dismounted lancers at the right, who pathed the way the player normally does and are facing at an angle accordingly - probably because of the rough ground now that I think about it).

It is not that the AI gets a choice of how to move, it is just that it uses a different routeing algorithm (because it takes into account terrain, although I don't think that is relevant in this case), and that different algorithm sometimes generates a different default path.

Having said that, I don't know whether that is the cause of the situation in this case. One would really need a saved game (saved prior to the move) in order to work out what exactly is going on.

I have the save file. Can I upload it as-is or does it have to be zipped or anything?

edit: I believe this worked..
