Over the past year I've been trying my hand at the GC 39-45 on Manstein. Lots of great videos and suggestions from folks in the forums but I've hit the wall , trying to get the bonus units in the Streets of Moscow. Part of the problem is that by using Nico's equipment file the Russians have two mobile AA 3 range units that are rather aggressive and can really do some damage. This eliminates the chipping away at the cavalry unit to the northeast and unless you can power through the center without tripping the counter attacks, the last airfield is just out of reach. All of my units are 13* and for this attack I'm using 3 tactical bombers, 2 fighters, 3 SE tanks, 1 MKIV, 2 88's, 3 +2 move Neblwaffers, 3 17cm, 1 Stug +1 range, 2 15cm, 2 10.5 cm, 1 AT and the rest are infantry.

The teasers are:

Richard Martin, who nabs both units and blows up the city with a DV in 19 turns.

Soren who in 24 turns also gets a DV, both units and rarely gets a damaged unit.

Braccada who rolls around the left flank, grabs both units but settles for an MV in 19.

They are masters but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to think like them.
So any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I wlll check my replay and see if have any idea to offer.

Great thing you play 39-45 on Manstein,
but do you really have to take the bonus unit?
I mean in Manstein there is lots of prestige.

Hi checked my replay, it is on Field Marshall difficulty, which is rather different than your settings, sorry did not find anything that can help.

Thanks for checking and you bring up a good point about the bonus units. While one can generate a fair amount of prestige over the course of the campaign, I have a feeling that by the middle of 43 I'll be burning it as fast as I can get it. But there are a slew of guards units in this scenario so getting those rascals to surrender could equal both tanks.

I wish all the best in your playthrough. Agree on 43 you a lot prestige to upgrade units.
