Bersaglieri - a weird unit

So my understanding of the Bersaglieri was that they were/are an elite light infantry force specializing in maneuver infantry warfare - endurance running, foldable bikes, and other non-standard but effective innovations that you probably couldn't rely on for regular infantry. But in this game they're statistically improved Alpini (+2 soft attack, +1 initiative), but with the amazing Alpine trait replaced with the dubious Bunker Killer trait. No extra movement, no organic bike transports. They do have the very nice alpine movement type.

I'm playing the Battle of the Pindus Mountains right now, and at a bit of a loss for how to use the Bersaglieri, and scratching my head a little at the unit design. What am I missing? Is it just a weird unit? I think losing the Alpine trait makes them worse than Alpini in this scenario at least, and arguably in any scenario with a hill.

I can see that organic bike transport would require an extra model that we don't already have, but would 4 move be too much?

It would be a bit weird if they weren't worse than Alpini in mountainous terrain. Alpini were the elite of the elite, and Italy always made sure that they were well-equiped. Italy had other mountain troops as well though.

A slight movement boost for Bersaglieri would make sense though. Just like Japan should have access to such a movement boost should it ever come to a Japanese DLC.
