We're releasing an update for Panzer Corps 2. You can find the full changelog below - do let us know if you encounter issues, please. Your feedback is important to keep improving and polishing the game.

Changes in Axis Operations 1940:

- Sedan
Added a 20 Strength, stationary, Panzer IIIB as an extra 7th Panzer unit to the map as a back up in the extremely rare situations where the other 7th Panzer units somehow are destroyed
Proximity scripts check for this new unit for scenario success trigger
The two other 7th Panzer units are now full 15 overstrength
Switched a couple French units from Hold Active to Hold Position Fire
French Strongpoint at Chimay changed into a Minefield to prevent any possibility of it destroying mission critical 7th Panzer units

- Fornebu
Removed hidden victory condition trigger

- ValkenburgRaid
All briefing markers pointing to sunken Lelystad have been moved

- Neufchateau
Increased portrait variety in debriefing


Changes in new player traits:
- Aggressive Deployment trait now works as its description says
- Force Dispersion no longer cancels Force Concentration, so the two can be combined to get max 2 heroes per unit
- Terrain Expern now improves both base and max entrenchment

UI:
- Main menu will now display "Field Marshal Edition" if FM pack or all of its components (purchased separately) are installed
- Various tweaks in UI layouts to better accomodate long localized strings
- Fixed color of unit strength in unit list (red when below maximum)
- Increased the gap between unit class icon and text when indicating assignable classes for a hero

Multiplayer:
- Various improvements in the tournament implementation
- Fixed crash which some people experienced when creating new challenges
- Fixed UI sometimes getting grayed and disabled at the end of MP games

Modding:
- Fixed table merging issues encountered in some mods
- Converted tables with main menu content (campaigns, scenarios, tutorials and multiplayer entry lists) to open text format for easier modding
- Mod manager can now show preview image for local mods (it will look for preview.jpg, preview.jpeg and preview.png files)
- Mod manager will now detect Steam Workshop subscribed mods and update the list on the fly

Known issue: On the main screen, DLC indicators got mixed up. 1940 is indicated as Spanish Civil War, and vice versa. This will be fixed in the next update.

I was hoping for an update to the Units.csv and paratroopers availability date due to Retrograde implications (or some other possible workaround), but I guess this just motivates me to try and do some of the side objectives without any paratroopers for added challenge when I get there.

Overall nice updates, glad to see some common issues were addressed so quickly!

Paratroopers were on my list, but I need to give it more thought, and basically we ran out of time before I could do it. However, I can offer an intermediate solution in the form of a mod. See attached. You need to unpack it in [Documents]/My Games/Panzer Corps 2/Mods folder, then inside the game activate it in MODS->MOD MANAGER and press APPLY. The change will be applied when a new scenario is started (won't affect mid-scenario saves). Let me know if it works or not.

Thanks for the update, but I noticed that after installed my axis 1940 DLC dissapeard. and on the main screen in the right down corner where the DLCs are dispalying. The Spanish civil war is not active...please answer. I have Field Marshall edition.

So, can you still play 1940 campaign or not?

I'm sorry for the trouble. I installed the patch once again and I put the serial number for Axis 1940. Now everything is working fine. Thank you.

Thanks! I was thinking about editing the csv file myself for my Retrograde runs, but for now I decided against it for this bizarre feeling of playing by the game's rules - for now I'll stick to this resolve since I'm only several scenarios deep in AO 1940, but it's a thing to consider if I end up not being able to meet the scenario objectives in first three missions without paratroopers on those Retrograde campaigns.

So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, no DLC is available and no matter what mode I try to play it crashes and gives me the error screen. I bought the FM Edition when it first launched, and I cannot get anything to work. Crashes every time.

So did any previous version of the game work on this machine? What are your hardware specs?

Worked perfectly up until this update. I have plenty of RAM 16GB in fact and state of the art processing speed. It downloaded, then has not played since, and I uninstalled an reinstalled like you said to do for the 4th time now. Nothing, keeps giving me that error.

Much better. You forgot one thing though: The UI still displays combat predictions for, say, towed artillery even when it cannot deploy to attack because of maximum distance travelled.

The symptoms which you describe do look very much like an installation issue. If reinstallation does not help, this might mean that the installation process is bugged, so after repeating it, you still get the same result. Could you please collect information about your installation and send it to me? I've written step-by-step instructions here:

So what I did was go all the way back and start reinstalling from all the previous versions, starting with 10 then 14 then 15. I was able to get Spanish Civil War working and the 39 DLC, but still cannot get the 40 DLC to work, it keeps asking for a key which I assumed was my key for the FM edition. I thought FM Edition we get all the extra content free, but I am seeing on these boards how others with the FM edition are paying for this DLC??? Can someone let me know how to download the 40 DLC for my FM edition for free?

I noticed I am not the only one this has happened to. There are a few more complaining about the same thing.

AOSCW and AO39 were free with FM edition. AO40 is not.

The FM edition only ever guaranteed you the first two DLC, so Spanish Civil War and 1939. Everything after that you have to pay for.

Well, for me this new update it's just as bad as the last one
The game is full of lag, it crashes with Unreal 4 Crash pop-up very often, it still overheats and now I'm stuck at the Sedan scenario, where it loads very hard and after it finally loads, the game is frozen. Personaly, I'm tired with all these issues.

P.S. my specs are fine, its not a PC problem.

Ok, here is a weird one. Since the update, my desktop version is just fine and so is my laptop EXCEPT the units in my Deployed Units roster and the Purchase Units tab are all fuzzy and not distinct. Once you purchase a unit and deploy it, it looks fine. The rest of the game on my laptop is crystal clear. (It should be...I paid enough for it!). Any ideas?

In options, have a fiddle with your AA settings. Sometimes they can get a bit funny between updates. Either turn it off, restart and turn it back on again, or some people say just turning leaving it off works for them. Seems to be slightly different solutions for different people with different combinations of hardware and drivers.

Thanks Pat! Moved AA to minimum then reloaded game, problem fixed. Then moved AA back to max and good as new! Swear every computer and program has a virtual gerbil that sometimes gets in a snit!
