Slitherine

New to PC2. I've got the hang of most of the editor but can't figure out aircraft.
I put a single airfield with a single aircraft but when played in the first turn I get an aircraft sound then explosion and the aircraft is gone.
What am I missing? I explored all the menus but can't seem to find something that appears to be related.
Any help is appreciated.

There are two types of airport, maybe you have not chosen the right one depending on the type of plane ?

Looks like I figured out the answer to my own question.
Airfield needs to be market with "flag" of country.
