Narrative info below about the US 3d Infantry Division Campaign
This is the announcement of my release of US 3d Infantry Division in WWII Campaign. Special thanks to ColonelY, Erik, Navman2584, GabeKnight, and Mascarenhas for making it all the way through on the Beta play-throughs and giving lots of great advice, player perspectives, pointing out errors. And to Dwightd for helping on the very last Beta play-through and Gunny on the first complete reported v1.03 playthrough.

Thanks to all others who helped. Especially Bru, who might have been worn out by my scenarios and horrified by the prospect of having to do 17 more. But I presume. Bru checked the campaign and 5 scenarios, for which I am extremely grateful. I must say that the latter scenarios suffer in missing his tender scrutiny. Thanks Bru!

Updates:
1.01 fixes glitch in objectives for 2 Lica scenario.
1.02 updates to fix 6 Volt scenario objective arrows and flags.
1.03 updates the objectives in 5 Sale scenario to allow Major Victory.
2.0 integrates all changes and the last Gunny playthrough.
2.0.1 fixes a a glitch in the secondary objective for the shore guns in 1 Casa scenario, and is the formal version for downloading and for Shards to post on the Community Content Box.

Play Note: I never got the RPs squared away on this. On the last playthrough, I had to take Warbonds out, while Dwightd was wayyyyy ahead in RPs. Please, if you get totally jammed up in this toward the end, don’t be ashamed or reluctant to take out some warbonds. It’s not designed to be played on low RPs. The US Infantry Division Order of Battle in WWII was a monster at devouring resources, as you will see.

Note to all: I didn’t know much about the history of the 3d Infantry Division before I picked it. I picked it because I already had done 2 scenarios featuring it and figured to keep on from there. I had no idea that I picked the premier US Infantry Division in the war. As background to the OoB Campaign, and as an admirer from a distance of the brutal fight the 3d Infantry Division underwent, please note that the US 3d Infantry Division had the most consecutive days of combat of any US Division, the highest number of casualties of any US Division in WWII, was the only Division to fight the Nazis on every front the US fought in, and suffered the highest number of casualties in a single day of any US Division. So developing the scenarios was quite an educational experience for me. I tried to present the battles as closely as I could to the way they were fought, but embellishments and historical inaccuracies abound – I tried to keep it interesting.

Here is a link to my historical sources, in case you are interested.

Please provide comments on playability, RPs, or errors in response to this announcement!

I hope you enjoy it!

Copy the campaign folder to your campaign folder?

Or is it a problem with the first scenario... it's a little unconventional but the instructions are in the text display below the battlefield

Problem in my case is that nothing happens when you click "start the selected scenario" (the small island in the Pacific, etc) in the campaign opening screen

Load this one up boys :!: I think you will like the campaign. I learned a lot about the division just by playing through it.

Like this campaign? Yes, of course, I'm convinced of it! :D It was already a very, very good campaign while Beta-testing it, so now that it has been improved, it should definitely be awesome!

Good job, thanks a lot conboy!

By the way, there's a little something that now titillates my curiosity: conboy, as you wrote about your campaigns (plural, yes! ), I wonder what could be in preparation, what might be in the works? 8)

But maybe the suspense is going to be kept a little bit on that...

ColonelY,
It is improved in large part because of your interesting and fun historical and gameplay perspectives.

So thanks again hombre!

I am working on a mini campaign of the early part of Operation Avalanche but it doesn't break new ground, just building on lessons learned now.

Thank you for the optimistic compliment - I hope the 3d Div campaign satisfies the curious and entertains the aficionado.

:D You're welcome, and I'm glad I have been able to be of some help.

About Operation Avalanche? 8) Cool, thanks for this info. This campaign will for sure be interesting as well. :D

Perhaps it won't break new ground? :? Doesn't matter really much, as this alone can't really prevent this campaign from being fun and enjoyable.

conboy, have you seen The Liberator on NetFlix?
It is about an US company and their 500 days at battle from Sicily via Salerno, Anzio, Dragoon to the deatch camps in Germany.
A perfect accompainment to your campaign!
The series is interesting as it was probably filmed in b/w and then re-coloured to make it look like an animated 'cartoon'.
It is based on a real-life story. Ans what a story.... Recommended.

Hey, Conboy;

There'an objective trigger on Licata Mission which is not working properly. I achieved Phase I and Phase II on time, but the result screen came with a failure mark. Can you check it pleas
