Do you get more experience for a sprung trap or for straight kills?.
If I know some air attack is coming I can make a trap or sometimes I can just go straight for the unit and attack first. If I kill the same amount of points each way is there any advantage experience-wise in waiting and letting them be caught. I seem to remember a long time ago someone giving me the formula that calculates experience but cant find it now. Is it that simple, is it just done on the mumber of kills?. thanks for info.

It appears that you get experience for taking damage, so you may well get less if ambushing rather than normal combat because the initiative difference is usually greater in an ambush and the ambushed unit may not be able to fire back.

Also, if you ambush a unit and have defensive artillery (or a fighter if an aircraft) you may get less experience because the enemy attack is diminished by damage or suppression or because the unit has less remaining strength to be destroyed.
