Congratulations to our champion Lynxcom!

And my apologies for the issue with score reporting in this final round, I'm hopeful that the fix in 8.6.1 means that this won't happen again!
(personally, very hopeful so I don't have to manually manage this )

I had great fun playing yet another tournament and have of course signed up for the next one.

I noticed that the 3rd scenario was somewhat balanced in favour of the Germans resource-wise.
At least I ended my play as the Germans with plenty of Reichsmark in the bank while the Soviets were in need of another 5-year plan to get some Rubels.
Maybe some hyper-inflation at work since a briefmark currently costs a few million RMs.

Thanks for the fun tournament. I have to admit that the third map was the easiest for me to figure out and allowed me to make a monster comeback in the overall rankings. Moving from the cellar to the middle of the pack felt pretty good. Can't wait for the invasions tournament to start. I have to agree resource wise it was in the Germans favor. I mean being able to focus three Hummels and two Panther G units along an axis of advance makes for a long day for the soviets. No problem holding the flanks, and replenishing units that were damaged.

The Soviets on the other hand had trouble replenishing their losses and I was short funds at the end of the scenario.

There probably is a thing where I should make more cash available to Russian players as a rule, if only because their kit is just so damned expensive....

Boilermakergamer (obviously a Purdue sympathizer, which should probably go unremarked upon further), you hit it right -- the last map was easy to figure out and enjoy.

ps - Note to newer players: PvP is absolutely the best way to sharpen your OoB skills. It demonstrates the value of a balanced force and sound tactical play. Please don't be disappointed - it takes a lot of guts to power through a tournament facing such good players. My compliments to all who persevered!

Conboy what have you found to be the most effective soviet mobile artillery? In the third scenario I was loaded up on SU-152s, but do the Soviets have something better to use? Thanks for the feedback.

I think I was using the 152s as both direct and indirect fire. I didn't pay too much attention to the nomenclature. They were pretty quick to tire out and not to good on defense. But they were mobile and could put hurt on weakened enemy units, so I loved it.

I was just thrilled at having RPs enough to buy move-and-shoot soviet tube artillery, after having played so many rounds of Dubno.

I bought a ton of them because my tanks and infantry were doing fine and I needed some mobile stuff to back them up. I just used them for flanking maneuvers, attacking/suppressing weakened enemy units, and to back up the T-34 tanks and infantry by plugging holes in the lines. I never had such luxury playing the Soviets!

I was completely and pleasantly surprised with the scenario on both sides - it was traditional German and a whole new look at the Soviets, for me anyway. I never had any problem with the Soviet RPs and had plenty of mobile firepower, for a huge change in how I usually have to play the Soviet side.

I think that was my biggest mistake playing the Soviets, I invested in the IS instead of T-34s, and didn't have enough to exploit my advantages. I easily stopped the German advance, I just wasn't able to encircle them in masse like I had hoped to. I will keep that in mind in the future.

Hi, I am wondering why this score is different than the final score at the scoring page? Lynxcom is here the winner but on the scoring page it's ZhugeLiangOne, with exact same score. This is probably discussed earlier but if anyone can fill me in it would be much appreciated. Also because I am in a game against ZhugeLiangOne so it gets close to my skin (well, that's how we say it in Dutch sometimes). Thanks, enjoying the tournament immensely

There was a bug in the final round, where the scores were assigned to the wrong user in the tournament page on the website...
