Hi,
These are the introduction texts that are in the game, presumably you did not notice them,
IDS_ARMY_INTRO_LSR_BRITISH, "Following the collapse of the lowland kingdoms at the end of the 6th century, the remaining British kingdoms included, in the north, Elmet (annexed by Northumbria in 616 or 626), Gododdin (annexed by Bernicia circa 638), Rheged (annexed by Northumbria some time before 730), and Strathclyde (annexed by the Scots between 1019 and 1053). Also the south-western kingdoms of Dumnonia and Cornwall (finally annexed by England by the reign of Edward the Confessor 1042-1066).",
IDS_ARMY_INTRO_LL_BRETON, "The Breton Kingdom was destroyed by the Vikings circa 931 AD. The new Duchy of Brittany created by a Breton counter-invasion from England in 936 adopted the Norman military system.",
So the British list represents the British (ie: non Saxon) kingdoms. The Bretons are the people of Brittany, in present day northern France.
cheers
Paul

Well they are from Bretagne (Britanny) in France, not Grand Bretagne (Great Britain). However, Bretagne is called Bretagne because the population included a high proportion of Britons, due to massive migration of Celtic Britons from Britain to Britanny in response to Anglo-Saxon expansion in Britain.
