Hi,
Many of us play PBeM games. Some questions for the experts :
(1) How many PBeM games can you handle ?
(2) Is there any file naming convention that you use to make it easy to play (turns pending, turns completed etc.)?
(3) Any other Tips & Tricks to play PBeM would be helpful to all.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Derek

1. It depends how much time you can commit to ceaw each day. If you have a few hours, you can play 6 or more games. I think I currently have about 8 going, and that's the limit for me. I play when I can, and don't stress about having to take a day off here and there.
2. I just put the names of both parties in the name, like JoeDave or Joe v. Dave or Joe (Axis) v. Dave.
3. Until you become familiar with your opponent, play with an air of caution. You need to learn how strong a player he is, what his favorite tactics are, and how he will respond to your favorite tactics before you do anything crazy. Never assume one opponent will react to your moves the same way as someone else did. That said, it's also important to play your game. You have to be flexible, but make sure you have a general strategy at the outset and stick to it unless your opponent gives you a good reason to change. Maybe you planned on launching Sealion, but your opponent brought all his forces to England to prevent it. So go for the Middle East and an early Barbarossa instead. Flexibility is important, but you also have to be resolute in achieving your goals. The great players know exactly when they have to change strategies, and once they do they move decisively toward the new goal with no hesitation.
