How is the difficulty?

I have tried the demo and except from the last scenario it was ok. But I wonder if the game is very difficult even on easy? If I'm not a hardcore turnbased strategy gamer is it then too difficult? It looks good and the setting is great, but if I just get stuck and loose all the time, then it's not fun, and fun is important for me when I'm playing.

I rarely finish these types of games as I don't take the time to understand the nuances of each character or read the entire manual.
At the easy setting, I managed to get all the way through Invasion and Onslaught. The last time I managed something like this was when I played ZORK. I DID have three restarts, which helped me to discover things like buying more troopies during the game, and later on I discovered the summons option from Ailsa. Once I worked out these things and the benefits of rock throwing trolls, I was all go. My guess is that there is much more you can do with stuff in the inventory, but I never used it..
This is without doubt one of the most enjoyable games I have ever owned, and believe me when I say that I own way too many unfinished games.
