p.41, troop name is "tribal levies". troop type gives armour as "unprotected / poor".

i expect the poor armour is probably a quality! :o

No, no, no! I can't take this on top of April 15 tax payments!

I absolutively deny the possibility of the existence of errata for a Companion volume that hasn't even materialized in the shop yet!

also, p10. all the early libyan light chariots have their shooting capability listed as close combat?

or at least, the bow-armed chariots do. i'm assuming the javelin-armed ones aren't actually light spear?

I didn't think chariots got javelins, they doo get light spear though.

actually... p.37 hittite list also has light chariots with the close combat capability "bow".

am i misreading the list? and chariots get bow in the impact/melee phase?

Argh. Sorry.

The following applies to all lists:

All chariots with Bow capability should have it listed as a Shooting capability only.

All chariots with Light Spear capability should have it listed as a Close Combat capability only.

No chariots have Javelins shooting capability.

If anyone would be kind enough to list all the pages on which these errors occur, it will facilitate a correction in the errata sheet.

I'd love to be able to blame this on someone in particular. Name and Shame Richard. Unless its the publishers, then no-one will be interested who. Do you know who's fault it is Hammy??

I was happy to just blame Hammy :(

I blame the players..... ;)

Seriously it is very easy to go crosseyed when checking these books. I have a list of things I check for, if I notice inconsistencies or errors outside what I am specifically checking I mention them but things like this will always slip through :(

It doesn't really cause any problems as it is obvious to me at least that bow is a missile weapon.

The best thing is never to check something you have written yourself. Oh, and find someone else to blame, like the publishers.

Noted in passing:

p49, another column shift needed for Light Spear on the Spearmen line.
p51, init cap for "Light spear" in Allies list for Aramean spearmen

Need an Immoral Fire Late Dynastic Egyptian Allies list for Later Hebrews and Assyrians. The only other out-of-book allies are Thracian Allies which are available.

More:
Early Slavic page header on Mitanni list (could it be . . . ?)
"Mycenaen" typo in page headers on p 31 and 33

FYI in olden days they taught proofers to read backwards by the word beause you had to go so slow that you had to actually see the individual word as opposed to reading normally where you have a tendency to speed along. The other trick is to read out loud to slow your self down.

Of course this left it up to the editors to read the text forward to see if it was intelligible.

Is it true there is a black-market poorly printed chinese import of this book available for download that has upper-class fox-hunting cavalry in some of the later lists, and is titled "Swifter than Beagles" ?

Pg.73. Phrigian allies.
Record "Javelinmen": Light foot, Unprotected, Average, Undrilled, Javelins, Light Spear, 5 pts.
Cost must be 4 pts.

When will be a new errata (with Late Dinastic Egiptyan allies)?
