A VERY simple question

Since I didn't get an answer to this in my previous post, I will just ask this.
Is the disc/retail version of the game and/or the download version from slitherine's store, with DRM requiring online activation and such?

So, no one here has bought the game? I am talking about Military history Commander - Europe at War, PC version, in case I didn't make that clear.

Do you have to be online to install or play the game? (obviously you need to be online to download the game if you buy the download version) Are you limited in installations allowed?

I found an old post about the original CEaW and I think there are limits. I hope this is not the cae with MHCEaW or else it looks I will not buy this PC game.
Of course I at least have the DS version.

I bought the MHCEAW Gold PC version by downloading it here online and it is activated by a serial number that you get in your email. No online activation for any reason.

What about this? viewtopic.php?t=4180 It mentions 3 installation limit, PC signature, etc. Granted, it is for the original CEaW, not the MH version, but I rather be safe.

Your post is good news, but I guess I should rather wait for some guy from Slitherine to reply.

They changed the activation thing to the serial thing because it was giving lots of problems to people who bought it. That's what I read in these Forums here.

Yes we changed the copy protections system after the orioginal CEAW. CNaw and all our future games are using teh serial number system that does not require any online authentification.

If you buy the boxed copy it never requires an internet connection. If you buy the download version it only requires the connection to make the purchase and initial download - never when playing.

Be gentle. I almost never play any strategy games or wargames. So, don't worry, you will easily defeat me.

Hmm this is I think the first time I have seen a categorical statement from Ian on DRM (have not looked to hard I must admit).

I must say, that is good news. I buy just about all my wargames from Matrix Games for a single reason, serial number required, nothing else required.
This makes it Matrix Games and Slitherine now.

I guess it's handy you two make 97% of all the wargames I want in the first place.
