The teppo was a Japanese adaptation of the Portuguese arquebus:

One of the best (IMHO) FoG AARs to date features a unit of Ii ashigaru armed with the teppo:

Peter Pig only uses 15mm AK-47. I am just wondering why he did not use crossbow?

The Japanese first using the crossbow (umjio I think) copying the chinese version. It fell out of favor around 1000 AD.
The Teppo (matchlock) was first brought by Portagese traders in 1545. And in 10 years it was first used in combat by formed Ashigaru units. The Japanese did make some improvements to the weapon 1) a cover that swung closed protecting the pan with its loose powder. 2) standard caliber. They were also the first to use rotational fire during the battle of Nagashino. Which was 50 years before it was used in the west.
