No. I gave up on that game years ago. I drew the line at the aircraft rules - I objected to having a front-line 1914-quality British corps reduced to a nervous wreck by 7 unarmed fighter units, setting it up for destruction by 2 German corps in 1 turn. Pointing out the lack of realism (a noted selling point of the game) in this, I was ridiculed in the forum, with many comments along the lines of "only 7?" and "works for me".
That and the complete lack of understanding of how the convoy system worked in the Great War, the ridiculous situation with the Gallipolli landing force - it was like watching the Spithead review assembling, when the CP player sailed his fleets to the eastern Aegean to wait for the troop convoys to appear.
Stopped playing and removed it from my laptop many years ago.

I agree - I played a few rounds of it with a friend when it first came out but either I would dominate in the early game (as the Allies), or France was lost to 1914 Stukas.

This being said, I followed the development of the PotzBlitz overhaul mod for years and it looks to be a complete redo of the game, so perhaps worth a shot. I'm currently in a game of SC WW1 and I intend to try the PotzBlitz mod after to compare.
