LOST SCROLLS - Photos needed

Hi

We are now in the process of finishing our final book of Army Lists - The Lost Scrolls. Basically these are the lists that for one reason or another (space for example) didn't make it into the main lists.

So we have another call for suitable photos - 15mm or 25mm. The lists in the book are set out below with some information on dates etc so you can check your figures are suitable. You guys have already supplied photos for lists already published and yet to be published, so here is your last chance to be part of the FoG series :!:

The technical bit is that the photos need to be of a print standard of at least 300DPI. Really all this means is that you need to set your camera to a fine or high setting, and the pictures should be taken in natural day light. Or put another way, the standard used for print advertising rather than publication on the web.

The composition can be single figures or groups. The standard single based figure for advertising (against a neutral background) is often as effective as a signature vignette of a "nice piece of kit".

Obviously full credit for the source will be given in the army list book.

So if you have any pictures you'd like us to use for that book please get them to JDM@slitherine.co.uk by 1st May 2009 (sorry for the short deadline but the composition of this unusual book has only just been finalised).

Obviously I am happy to help with any questions or queries on technical details, composition, suitable subject matter. via this Forum

Thanks in advance.

It is all the Lost Scrolls that there was room for. Any others will eventually be made available as free downloads.

How are these going to differ from the main Later Medieval German list in Storm of Arrows? I can see the need for the Free Cantons, but doesn't the LM German list provide enough variety to represent the cities and the Princes?

The Later Medieval Frisians are largely black and white and make loud Mooing noises to scare the enemy.

Any chance of the Foederate Roman, Sassanid, Early Byzantine, and Maurikian Byzantine lists being amended to account for these newly updated allies?

If this is the final book, does this mean that the work on the next sets(i.e. Rennaisance) will begin in earnest? I'm picking up my Italian wars order at the end of the week. Of course,my Hoplites come first...

Lost Scrolls OY Vey!

I posted in the Swifter than Eagles comments that I felt the BIGGEST omission from the book were the missing tribes of Israel, where are the Early Hebrews? Joshua destroying the Caananites at the Battle of Ai, Benjamanite Slingers, Mighty warriors of Ephraim, Barak at Mt Tabor, Saul and Jonathan battling the Philistines. The ARk of the Covenant inspiring the faithful or being looted by the infidel. This army adds too much color to the period to be ignored! What is happening?

Have to agree on that, it's one of the armies that we know quite a lot about from Biblical texts, it's hardly an obsure army, unlike some of the DBM tournament armies that one used to see and the Later Hebrew army is already there in the lists. To have a "later" version of the Hebrew army but not the "early" one in the same list book seems to be a bizarre decision. To then leave it out from Lost Scrolls seems even more odd.

What makes you think it isn't covered by a Lost Scrolls army list? 8)

Because it isn't listed in the original posting Nik.

If it is in Lost Scrolls then great. I still feel it would have been logical to put it in with its contemporaries in Swifter Than Eagles though. In general, to print any "Later" army without the "Early" one in the same book just looks a little odd and can be quite frustrating if you have the army in question.
