More information in MP mail?

Is it possible to include more information than currently in the PBEM mails than this:

Dear kronenblatt
It is now your turn in the following battle
Battle: Random Map Battle
Turn: 41

Or, if opponent with non-English version:

Dear kronenblatt
It is now your turn in the following battle
Battle: Mapa de batalla aleatorio
Turn: 32

It would be great if it could read more like:

Dear kronenblatt
It is now your turn in the following battle
Rus 960-1053 AD - Scots 851-1051 AD
Battle: Random Map Battle
Turn: 41

Because then it would be more clear which game (out of potentially many) the email concerns.

Thoughts?

Passed on to the relevant people.

The main obstacle to this is avoidance of game-specific code on the PBEM++ server.

Hi. Has there been any further thoughts and progress on this request?

Adding opponent's name is on the to do list for PBEM3.

Adding details of the opposing armies in Custom Battles isn't really feasible because of the way the information is passed to the PBEM3 server - which needs to be game agnostic, rather than having code tailored to each individual game.

PBEM2 is not going to be updated, because FOG2: Ancients should be migrating to PBEM3 early in 2021.

Fair enough: the opponent's name works just as well. Many thanks, RBS, for your efforts and for the heads-up!

I expected the MP mail in PBEM++ to include more information, such as the opponent's name added, not less... :(

Before
It is now your turn in the following battle
Battle: Random Map Battle
Turn: 8

Now
It is now your turn in Field of Glory II, to play challenge 'Random Map Battle'.

Could opponent's name please be added, and turn number reinstated?

That is a shame, could often guess which game it was with the previous version but now that information has been lost. Would be good to get it back.

Think yourself lucky Andreas, I have had no email notifications at all on my on going games since the transfer. I will chase it up.

I understood that they were going to include more information (i.e. opponent's username) in the emails. However, I think it is a work in progress.

Ha ha! Yes, I was born lucky...! ;)

Thanks for looking into this, Richard. Would you want me to do anything?

Is there any update on how this is progressing?

Does it require a lot of development or is it only low priority?

No, and I can't keep asking or I will just annoy the person responsible.
Does it require a lot of development
It seems unlikely.
or is it only low priority?
Other things are higher priority at present. But it is on the list, and will get done when time permits.

Ha ha: no probs, thanks Richard. 😀 The question wasn't really aimed at you; more to get it up the thread food chain and act as a reminder to "the person responsible" who hopefully checks this forum from time to time as well. I don't mind being annoying. ;)

He doesn't. It isn't his job to do so.

Officially no, but maybe he can't resist in his free time or during lunch break...

Is this (= adding the opponent's name to the email) getting closer to being developed and implemented? Understanding it may not be of highest priority, but still would like to ask in order to at least keep on the radar.

I have no direct input into the MP system development. I have not heard anything recently, but I know it is on the to do list.
