I've been watching your website for a while, I wish you the best with these, they look stunning in the undercoated and painted versions.

Look very nice! I am just finishing an A&A Sassanid army and am very pleased with those figures so know these will be good also.

The Aventine site says Adam did A&A's Palmyrans and 3rd centruy Romans. I am not sure that he did any of the Sassanids. The Palymrans and Romans are beautiful figures, some of the best I have ever seen in 28mm. This is an example:

For the record, these figures are quite large. I think four A&A Roman legionaires would have a very difficult time fitting on a 60mm base. But if I ever have the opportunity this is one army (A&A Palmyran) I would like to do in 28mm.

I have painted and based 4 spearmen on a 60mm base, these fit okay, honest. Have a photo but can't get it to post here so I added it to the Yahoo group photo album.

Adam does not do size zero, I know I have to cast them. LOL

The Romans fit 4 to a 60mm base - I know I have some :D

Depth is the issue, however, and I've based half on deeper bases so that they rank up properly.

I was only referring to the later A&A Romans:

Nik, have you fit four of these to a 60mm base :?:

BTW, the Aventine Etruscans look very nice, and don't appear nealy as wide. Personally, absent a true Etruscan list I wouldn't have a problem using the Aventine Etruscan spearmen as hoplites in a Greek list.

No, mine were the C3rd ones - which are, IMO, much nicers as well :D

Not sure those would fit - too front on - so you'd probably have to do 3 instead.

The Aventine figures look very good - I especially like the Command Group. Would do at a pinch for some Successors like say Pontic as well. A web site worth watching for new releases.

LIke others I have some A&A figures on the painting shelf - in my case phalangites - and I think that the best way to fit them on a 60mm base is to have them at an angle with shields to the fore. Did that with some Renegade Romans and it worked fine. Have seen the same pikemen based for WAB and they do fit easily on 20mm individual bases!
