Here is the position of the units at the start of the turn. The units involved are B1, B2 and Y1, Y2, Y3.

Unit Y3 pulls back. Unit Y1 attacks unit B1 from front. Then Unit Y2 attacks across the primary ZOC of B2 into the flank of B1 for an automatic drop of morale from flank attack. What I am wondering about is how Y2 was able to attack across the front of unit B2 to hit unit B1? The attack was across the Primary ZOC of B2.
So bug or am I missing something on how ZOCs work?

B2's Primary ZoC is the square that Y3 vacated. Y2 is in B2's secondary ZoC and has the freedom to attack whatever it wants within its scope. It is not exposing itself unduly to B2 since there is no threat of an immediate flank attack from B2.

Actually, no, it does appear to be a bug. Units are not supposed to be able to charge diagonally across an enemy unit's front to hit another enemy unit in flank/rear.
This is what is supposed to happen:

What I can't immediately figure out, is why Y2's charge was not prevented in your game.
If anyone can reproduce this bug in an SP game, please can we have the saved game to examine. (You can .zip it and attach it here).

I can't recall ever seeing this situation before and may never see it again.
I wonder if the flank charge going into rough ground rather than open ground might have played a role.
And I will try a test game with the same armies and playing both sides to set up the same situation. See if I can reproduce it.

Well, it has been awhile but I just ran across the situation again. Enemy cavalry (in yellow) charged across the primary Zone of Control (in red) of a non-engaged infantry unit. The Visigoth cavalry charges across the primary ZOC of the unengaged raw Frankish infantry to hit the disordered Frankish cavalry. This is the second time I have noticed this happen but this time it is cavalry rather than infantry charging across the ZOC.
