FG2 vs. PC2 (or OOB for that matter)

Having played the latter for hundreds of hours and having just gotten into FG2, my question is this: Is it harder to keep all your core units alive in FG2, than in the others? That is certainly my impression or is it just that I am a newbie at this game?

On higher difficulties you may lose units if you don't act carefully, but on lower ones there should usually be no problem.

Just like in OOB, if you get in a hurry and rush in, you will have your head handed to you.
