Idea for a mod

Dear Modders
I love this game but have one problem:
I am a father of 2 little kids so i have only about 5h time per week for this game.
I would love to play a szenario with a smaller map. Maybe only the mediterranaian sea with about 40 to 50% of the procinces and regions of the original campaign.
Would be cool if a game could be finished in about 20 to 40 hours.
In another thread Pocus told me that this would be possible in a mod.
Maybe someone has aldready started with such a mod?
