2020 team event - final score and comments

Well done to everyone, I think we can probably close Round 3 now. I am still not sure if Cedric and Fabien are playing. If not, we will forget it and call it a draw. If so, we can add the result later.

So the conclusion is:

Snuggles and TGM win for the Koreans
Gdod win for the Japanese Invaders

So we can safely assume that the Koreans are victorious.

I think that we should probably draw this 'team event' to a close now, and thanks to all for taking part. I am sure we will try again later in the year, perhaps with a different format. I notice that everyone is very enthusiastic for Round One and then it gradually becomes more difficult to get things completed.

Any thoughts, debriefing, suggestions please?

I think we should stick to Open Battle personally. I also wouldn't mind mirrored matches where players play paired games, one with each faction, though that is more of a commitment for people.

Totally against the Mirrors, these team 'Events' are meant to be a bit of fun without the seriousness of Competitions.
This event was about recreating the Japanese invasion of Korea by having a Japanese Civil war then some battles based on the historical Japanese invasions and battles in Korea.
One way of enjoying the Sengoku Jidai game system.
Players are taken on trust and if they fall by the wayside for whatever reason no big deal, bring in a ring-in if possible, or one player plays two games, whatever.
Alan's patience has to be seen to be believed, he does a fantastic job trying to keep us gamers having themed games with a few laughs from the likes of GDod.
Thanks Alan

Thanks Brian for the kind words.

I can understand SB's suggestion but I personally do not want to have a competition feel to the 'event'. The idea is to have themed games with some atmosphere and narrative. Obviously, players try to win their games but in the end it does not really matter if they do or not, as long as they enjoy it. And I think Gdod shows us the way with his 'in character' posts and storylines.

I can return the compliment by saying that Brian was an ideal team captain, with his encouragement to players and behind the scenes tactical talks.

I am starting to look forward to our next outing, as SJ is a terrific game.
