All who might be interested:

I have prepared an update of the US 3d Infantry Division campaign for evaluation and public comment.
If you are interested in participating as a Beta tester, please PM me and I'll send you the link. Please post any comments you might have in response to this post.

Thanks in advance for your interest!

ps - please don't pass the link on or publish it when you get it. I have had more beta version scenarios downloaded than the final versions!

1st “Scenario”
I like the “Introduction” scenario, as well as the detailing of how briefings are organized
Even if it someone already knows this stuff, I think it provides a fair amount of flavor.
It’s good that it details what you’ll have available, and what forces you can expect to command.
:)

Actual Scenario 1
So far [turn 8], it runs smoothly.
It seems the Vichy airfield doesnt give any supply. This means that fighter aircraft is unable to engage in combat for more than turn. I’ll post a picture after I finish up the scenario. My computer doesn’t play nice with typing with the game open

I must have changed the setting to no off-screen air supply.
Rats!
keep on playing though. I've already distributed this to a lot of people. There's not enough Vichy planes to cause a recall of the scenario.

thanks!

All evaluators,
Please go into the 1 Casa scenario and click the off-map air supply for the French.
Or not -- it won't really make any difference in the way the game plays.

see pic

thanks,

this is easier that promulgating an updated scenario.

First Impressions and Casablanca Scen

Wow! Amazing! It';s quite a surprise the level of attention and accuracy you dedicated to this campaign. Nothing to report but my wonder. Congratulations!

Thanks for the compliment. If you enjoy it and it plays okay, I've met two goals. The other is at least some fealty to the historical record.

So please keep notes on RPs after each scenario or few scenarios. I think I'm okay on the 30th/3d ID (there are some very costly scenarios) but way too high on the other two RCTs.

keep awn keepen awwwn!

and thanks for playing --

3 notes concerning the screen at the beginning of the campaign:
- why the introduction scenario is in France (the most beautiful country in the world) ?
Logically, the introduction scenario should be at the beginning of the red arrow.
- what is HistoryShots.com ?
- What do German weapons in a US campaign ?

As much as one can see, the map pictures the whole extent of the division's campaign along the two continents, as intended, it seems. This is not Free France Campaign, which, by the way, as much as we've been told, will be pictured way off France's continental "terroir". Your opinion about France's "beuté" above all other countries is also very disputable, regardless I may at, least partially, agree with this. But is we start it, there will be no end to the roar. :D :D :D

Palermo

I think you could name at least some of the involved Axis units in the scenarios. Another point, specifically on this one, the bridge that must be secured before turn 8 is blown without the characteristic noise. Fortunately, I sent my engineers close to it and could repair the thing just in time. The French and Dutch supplies are a bit scarce but workable. Else, ok.

What is the income for Axis forces? It seems, particularly with the Artillery, the don’t repair at all. I’m okay with this, having that much artillery to destroy would get annoying fast, but its just a matter of curiosity

I think this reference could be removed from the map.

San Fratello & Broilo

We're already by 9 August and Lt. Co.l Lyle Bernard's force still did not appear. Btw, San Fratello is already conquered. Is it supposed to be like this?

No it's not supposed to be like that!

lemme check.

Evaluators,
Please forgive me -- I have had to update one of the campaign scenarios. The hex initiating the trigger for the bernard landing force is in the wrong hex for the 3 SanF folder. This is two significant errors for me, one more and I gotta pull it all back and recheck everything. So sorry!

Here is the link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/cmujrgoqd ... F.zip/file

Please download it, unzip it, and copy it over the existing 3 SanF folder in the
...\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Campaigns\US 3d Infantry Division\Scenarios

You need to download this file, paste it in the folder, and restart the 3 SanF (San Fratello and Brollo) scenario if you are already playing it. If we did the whole campaign, you'd need to replay the intro, Casablanca, and Licata/Palermo scenarios -- hopefully you'll be able to do this without much trouble.

If I get another misfire like this, I'll have to cancel and re-check everything. I sincerely hope that this hasn't ruined the evaluation for you. It damn near has for me.

so sorry!

Has anybody had any major problems yet besides the beshat start of the Bernard Landing and the lack of supply for the French airplane in Casablanca?
