Faction Spotlight!

Greetings everyone.
I have started up a new series called Faction Spotlight. The object of this series of videos is to take a close look at factions which are particularly interesting, popular or perhaps underrated, and then see how they play against different army types. The idea is to really work out the nuts and bolts of how the most popular lists work, and maybe draw attention to other lists whose potential (and potential issues) aren't as well known as they perhaps could be.
At the moment, it is just Galatia, but if anyone has an army list that they want explored in more depth, please let me know, either here or by PM.

Ok, having watched the video, two things that really surprised me:
1. The sheer number of times I used the UNDO button. No wonder I suck so much in Pike & Shot and Sengoku Jidai.
2. The amount of time you spent worrying about frontal charges by lancers. To be honest 90% of frontal charges against steady warbands by lancers that happened in the game was me trying to get a free fallback without having to take a cohesion test. The disruptions that occasionally resulted usually catches me by surprise and I have to scramble to react to it.
Regarding the Kushan and Vikings in Ireland lists. Schweetness and Snugglebunnies had pretty rough seasons using those two lists respectively. So I thought it might be interesting to have a pair of fresh eyes take another look at them. Or it could just be a dastardly plot to trick you into reviving 'Ludendorf's Christmas Time Ordeal' without realizing it.

Interesting outcome. How would you do this battle differently if replaying it, given the same circumstances (same map, same opponent, and same armies)?

Probably what Dandy Frontline said, mixed in with my own withdrawal strategy mentioned in the vid. Put the Superior warbands up on the hill (and bring more to occupy the Veteran legionaries) and send the warbands after the reserve units. Pull back prior to impact and lead the legionaries away if things look too scary on the hill. I was trying for a sort of weighted flank, but I ended up getting my weaker flank destroyed before my stronger units could make contact. A lot of what went wrong on the right was due to me being in a tearing hurry to get into the weak Roman reserves.

Shows up to battle with an army based around light chariots. Getting to the only light chariot friendly area on the whole map involves squeezing through a one square gap between mountain and swamp then across a stream. That's how you know the map generation truly hates you.

That was a bit of a teeth kicker for the Elamites. We obviously got a Greek map.
