Does leadership and aiming assistance really work on fighters?

In the SCW DLC, I exchanged for the legendary hero Galland. He is a fighter ace with two traits leadership and aiming assistance. But I don't think it has any effect on a fighter unit. The green plane in the picture is Galland's fighter. It does not provide any benefit to the adjacent fighter.

Could be the bonuses aren't strong enough to change the prediction. Which means on low RNG, it's not influencing, but on any non 0 RNG mode, it should be improving odds.
Better to check the combat report for precise details.

I tested this on my old Madrid save, and Galland doesn't actually seem to provide a bonus (at least the 109B isn't getting one despite being next to him).

Typically, it shows the bonus trait on that unit such as mass attacking. The same for leadership and aiming assistance on ground unit. But it does not show anything on Galland. And btw, I set the RNG to be 20, so it should improve. I believe it is a bug.

Those two traits are very thematic for Galland's abilities... it would be a shame to have to change them for ones that work 'with aircraft'
But there is no protection for players normally getting such heroes and assigning them to aircraft. So just swapping his traits out is a fool's errand that solves a symptom and not the problem.
Investigation will be required.

I would rather put him on my recon car if I can. But I get your point, and I don't complain about having these two traits on a fighter. But it has to be working to say the least.

I made a test scenario of Galland in an airplane and Galland in a tank
Tank shows 3 assist markers (mass attack, aim assist, and leadership)
Aircraft shows 1 (mass attack)
So it looks like the 'adjacent' modifier needs to extend to aircraft and not just ground units.
Hopefully an easy fix!

That's good! I thought Galland didn't seem as impactful as I thought, hopefully it will be fixed in time for the next grand campaign!
