Keeping a wide front, Sassanids pushed the hepthalites again and again with their groups of infantry, light troops and horses, catching some units in the process.

The archers and crossbowmen died so that Noble Hospitaller knights of St John could charge around the battlefield killing everything that was not a pike block. Despite a nominal victory I am sure that the Pike blocks could have continued to fight until the sun set. The dice gods were with me on this one as the plucky crossbowmen held their ground and the knights charged into the rear of one cavalry unit onto another in quick succession. A slightly different routing path and I think the pikes would have won. Great game.

Two Catalan Generals perishing in combat and two poor pushbacks swung the game in the German favour in an otherwise tight fight.

It was a very tight battle initially, but the Tuareg camels gained the upper hand on the French knights and had a major turn where they scored a lot of points! Good game Russell! Good Luck! Thanks for the game!

SawyerK leading the Parthians 250 BC to 225 AD army with Seleucid ally

defeated Drudgep and his Roman 105 to 25 BC army by

58 to 32.

The Parthians refused one flank and launched a furious cavalry attack on their opponent's limited horse on the other. That effort bore fruit but left them having to endlessly divert a Roman elephant that made it around the contested flank. The crux of the Roman's problem proved to be a marsh which a number of Legionnaires tried to move around and through only to be delayed by medium foot. That allowed the Parthians heavy foot and cataphracts to deal with the remaining Legionnaires.

A narrow map with some hills in each deployment area and a valley in between. Some early skirmishing kind of drew out Italians as they attempted to deal with some light foot. Portuguese had medium cavalry on their left which were going wide but as the fighting began to develop in the centre and Italian left they rode in more central to offer support and maybe find a quicker way through - the Italians had mainly crossbowmen on their right that were protected by woods and rough ground. Melees got more intense on the Italian left/centre and the Italians had initial success - however this brought Portuguese units forward to threaten flanks and their Knights began their charges. Italians won the match through a couple of very good turns where they broke the Portuguese cavalry - through a Knight fragmenting and then routing a camel lancer that made it easier for the other Knight on that flank to finish off some mounted sergeants. Fighting on the far left was in the balance as a Portuguese armoured spearman had disrupted 2 raw spear and the only likely outcome was that he would finish them off and then destroy the third with help of a generalled Knight who surely must break the Italian Knight they had been in a favourable melee with for multiple times without getting so much as a disrupt. As Italians closed on the 25 point mark one disrupted raw spear was pushed back out of melee contact and the other raw spear in melee with that armoured spearman rallied meaning the Italian left held out long enough to see victory.
