The battle opened with a ferocious charge by the Anglo Saxon Hirdmen up a large hill in the middle of the battlefield, and the fighting remained centered on that location throughout, with peripheral fighting by cavalry and skirmishers.

The Immortals inflicted terrible carnage on my infantry, shooting them down in their hundreds and then repulsing their charges. Luckily, the Sparabara line suffered from multiple Fall Back cohesion tests, leaving the Immortals to be surrounded and ground down in the center.
