Thanks for the link to SS-GTPG!...and all you great work on LOV!!

When I started the SS-GTPG campaign and went to initially purchase my core units...there were a lot of SS units "missing" vs. my first play through.

If I remember correctly I could initially purchase SS pioniers, SS PZIII, SS PZIV, SS RECON, SS ARTY.

Do I need to find another mod to for this campaign in order to expand my initial SS core purchase units?

TXS

I'll have a look into this tomorrow evening.

You can check by using the "all eqp" cheat before accessing the purchase menu. This cheat allows the purchase of every unit.

Hi guys, I am new to Panzer Corps. I first got it on iPad and it was tremendous fun. Hence I am looking for extra contents like mods to play. I am really excited about the GTPG v1.12 mod coz it is very long with 70 scenarios.

Really sorry to bother you guys and Nikkidvd, but I am a real dumb when it comes to computer stuff. I have tried to read through the forums but dont have a clear idea on how to install this GTPG v1.12 mod correctly, so I really need your help (step by step would be most helpful).

From what I gather, it is in this order (could you guys help to confirm pls)

1) download and install the Generic Mod Enabler
2) download and install the GTPG v1.12 from the sendspace link. (only 1.22 MB??)
3) download the Sound Redux mod

I suppose the SS-GTPG mod also works in the same way?

I have the Panzer Corps Wehrmacht v1.22 currently. Many thanks once again.

For GTPG v1.12 you don't need GME. Just download the campaign from sendspace, and unpack the zip file in \documents\my games\panzer corps\mods. If the folder mods does not exist, than you need to create it.
Start the game and chose more campaigns (it is depicted as a folder), then you should find GTPG in the list.

For SS-GTPG you need GME and the download is significantly larger. You need to unzip it as the normal version and also in the mods folder of the GME program. There is a nice thread about the use of GME on this forum.

If mods work on iPad and how to install, that's out of my league.

This for the fast reply! Oops my bad, I forgot to mention that I just bought the PC version to play your mod!

Is the sound Redux mod necessary too for both mods?

Which would you recommend I play first? And is the GTPG file only about 1 MB?

For GTPG is no additional mod needed. I recommend you play this one first and on a difficulty not higher than Colonel.
Yes, zipped is about 1Mb. Scenario and briefing files are not big. It is the custom stuff (like graphics) that makes any mod much larger.

Right now I'm playing the 1.06 version of this Campaign. Can I upgrade to the 1.12 version while playing the current 1.06 mod, or do I need to finish...then reload the new version?
Don't want to screw up anything I've already accomplished. Just curious. By the way - is there a list of upgrades or what has been modified between versions? Thanks for any help.

GTPG v1.12

Changes:

Corrected an error in the campaign.pzdat
Added tweaked game rules:
- v1.14 game rules: first and second hero appears faster
- v1.20 game rules: first and second hero appears faster, softcap switched off
The changes in scenarios cannot screw up savegames. The changes are noticeable either by starting the campaign from scratch, or at the deployment phase of the next scenario after loading any savegame.
Tweaks in game rules are actualised when starting anew.

Nikvdd-

I'll add my 2 cents-this a great mod! :D I'm playing the SS variant and have made it to the Winter Moscow scenerio. I would be very hard pressed to recommend any changes what so ever.

I've been following the development of the 2 LOV mods and can't wait to get to those down the road at some point...along with some wonderful work done by other mod contributors!

I alternate playing this mod with the XCOM Long War-Enemy Within mod. Keeps my perspective fresh and a good change of pace for both games as each requires a good deal of focus to do well.

Again...kudos for your work...dedication...and williness to make changes/updates based on feedback.

Playing this one, never made it through to the end in the past. At Moscow43 and will finish it out. This is still the best one out there besides the GrandCampaign DLC 39-45 packs. Special thanks to nikvdd for the amazing work he does.

Has anyone tried doing a linked "really" grand campaign incorporating the DLCs and GTPGs into one linear campaign so that all scenarios are played. Perhaps add in the 37-39 scenarios, etc. Perhaps nikvdd has already done something like this in his "spare time"?

QUESTION regarding D-Day invasion scenario.....I'm playing the D-Day invasion scenario and for the first time ever, my PC locked up in the middle of turn 5. I noticed it acting funny during turn 4 (I had a black screen appear between Allied turn and my turn) then all my buttons froze up and I couldn't scroll the screen during my turn 5. I couldn't access any SAVE features and I lost the game in progress. (has anyone else had something like this happen?) Also, is it safe to assume maybe my memory was a bit slowed due to so many units on the screen or/remembering progressions of moves? Will it be better if I SAVE the game after every couple of moves just to be safe, and maybe even exit IN and OUT of the game to free up some space? I have 8 GB RAM I'm surprised it happened. OR....is it a scenario defect?? Any help please would be great. THANKS!! :)

Hey brdrumz,

I think I had similar issues, although I'm not sure weather it was the same scenario. I think it probably was. I think it has nothing to do with scenario design (expect maybe because of large number of units). It has more with game engine, as such behavior usually leads to game crash. I think game restart or several restarts with careful saves every turn will lead to the solution. It happens really rarely and I think it is a game bug.

Have you tried the "/nocache" thingie? It helps with memory.

Thanks timek28 and hs1611.....I will try both of these. I have Windows with Vista 64 and never had any issues prior to this. I will try creating a new shortcut with the NO CACHE option and also try saving and exiting more frequently. Hoping to finally make it through a full campaign without "starting over" all the time. :)

Hello - I'm really enjoying the GTPG campaign, but am stuck with one of the objectives for the mission in France. The decisive victory requires an armoured train in Paris.

I do not see a train placed for me on the map (maybe I'm missing it), and don't see how I can purchase one to add to my core. I also transported one of my units on a train, and left it in Paris, but no matter what I can only obtain a marginal victory when holding all objectives.

Can someone let me know what I might be missing WRT the armoured train, or something else?

Thanks, and thanks for a fun campaign!

The armoured train appears just north of Amiens, immediately after the deployment phase.

Interesting. I restarted the campaign, and sure enough, there it is, just South of Amiens. However, on my saved version, the train isn't there. I must have missed it being taken out somehow.

Thanks for the response!
