Ok game FINISHED joncorcuera (germany) vs k9mike (allies) victory for GERMANY in OUISTREHAM.

Total victory of the BG 858/346 from now on known as the SHARK BG, as soon as they smell blood...
All the flags taken and all the enemy units destroyed, 8 of our units where killed during the battle, but we challenge our enemys to try to move us from where we stand if they daré.

Haha, well done JC. Sounds like a rough ol' scrap and a hard won victory...

I'd be cautious of your challenges tho, lol... From happy experience, Mike usually comes back and whips my ass when I get cocky. An opponent to be respected... I suspect you might have to fight Ouchstreham against a mech/mixed BG coming at you from Benouville next time...

Btw, nice moves in Caen. Man, I was foolish giving up two 251s so early. Looking interesting in Bayeux tho... Where's that last Sherman? Hmmm? Here kitty kitty?

Ok, confession time... After rapidly discovering an enemy scout and momentarily crippling it to 6 morale but only 3/4 men, am receiving a brutal pasting on Ouistreham...

Al's airstrike took out an M16AA and the Sherman it was next to, 2nd turn... and his Arty Barrage took out the other M16AA, a Bren carrier and a scout on the 3rd turn... 15 brave Brits face 25 staunch Germans... All I can say is Al knows how to use his Arty, wow n ouch for shock n awe... My dead AA crews really need to read their instruction manuals better...

Hope you're all having better luck than me in your campaign games? For sure, Al must be kicking some!! Nicely done, mister...

Any AARs up yet?
:-)
ARGH!!

Al's 2nd airstrike takes out another two tanks...
He says he's going to award his pilot an Iron Cross with oak leaves...
I tell you, if I catch him, I'll string him up by his parachute!!...

Yup, you caned my ass in caen, JC (caened my ass, hehe?! ;-))

Sadly I got too cocky with my transports even tho i saw your 17pdr in the castle doorway, because i thought it should have been suppressed by the arty fall... Well, you taught me a nice lesson there, doh!!... At that point, my two 88s and two mortars were stuck... You played it masterfully, sigh...

But yes, bayeux has become a very happy hunting time now... Happy to quit that one if you'd like to? Not much a sherman can do by itself...

thanks for both games JC... You taught me some good lessons (again  )...

Until we meet again?

JC, Pls post the KIA (killed in action) page, so that K9mike can confirm losses for both sides.
I'll update the OOB once both confirm... Good game guys! That was fast! ;-)

4x CONFIRMED BATTLES - June 8th AM

Battle maps will approximate what you see on the Strat Map, but I've provided short descriptions below to help you with force selection...

OUISTREHAM - 151/50 (inf) [NTMRS] attacks fortified defence (AFD) v 858/346 (inf) [AFMRPS] - arrives from W
Enormous fortified beach with many defences positioned towards the sea. Some woods, estuary and marshes. A small town at the eastern edge

CAEN - 125/21Pz (mech) [APS] attacks fortified defence (AFD) v 6al/6 (para) [ATMRS] - arrives from S
Regional capital city with a castle fortress controlling river crossings. A busy port, cathedral, warehouses and university districts. Urban extreme.

BAYEUX - 9/3 (mech) [AMRS] attacks fortified defence (AFD) v II/744/711 (VG inf) [PS] - arrives from N
Historic town, dominated by river, cathedral and a fortified town hall. Fields to the south and west.

BURON - 8/3cdn (mech) [S] attacks fortified defence (AFD) v II/736/716 (VG inf) [MPS] - arrives from NW
Mostly fields and hedgerow, some small woods, several roads through the centre. Opposing forces are divided by a river towards the west.

1x POSSIBLE BATTLE - June 8th PM (if defender wins June 8th AM)

BAYEUX 231/50 (mech) [S] attacks fortified defence (AFD) v II/744/711 (VG inf) [PS] - arrives from NE
Historic town, dominated by river, cathedral and fortified town hall

Bonuses in square brackets [A=Arty, N=Naval Arty, T=Typhoon, F=Fw190G-2, M=Medic, R=Rally, P=Promote, S=Resupply]

Hadn't expected Buron, so I need to knock that map up and am busy with work/family this weekend. Hope to get you all started midweek... Urban practice recommended for Caen and Bayeux... Field/hedgerow assaults recommended for Allies in Buron and Ouistreham; Sneaky ambush practice recommended for Germans in same...

Thanks JC, No worries.
Ok, alternatively can you manually copy down the units killed for both sides and just post the types and numbers of KIAs here?
Screenshot is a nice to have but we'll trust you (Mike would jump up and down if you claimed something outrageous, lol! ;-)).
If the game is "complete" Mike won't be able to go back to the KIAs screen...

Hey JC, I've had a go at best guessing your summary versus the OOB, and estimate losses for Ouistreham as follows...

Summarised Battle Results - June 8th AM - Provisional

OUISTREHAM - German Victory (tbc)
Allied (151/50) KIAs = 20 = 4x Inf, 1x Eng, 2x HMG, 2x PIAT, 1x FT, 1x Mortar, 1x 17pdr, 1x 6pdr, 2x Roo, 2x AA, 1x Cromwell, 2x Sherman
German (858/346) KIAs = 8 = 2x Inf, 2x Eng, 1x Scout, 1x HMG, 1x 251/1, 1x Marder
151/50 is dissolved (BG was annihilated in battle)

Mike/JC, you have three options:
1. are you ok registering these as the results for Ouistreham? (i have to subtract dissolution penalties once we agree core losses)
2. do you remember approx what you killed/lost? pls let me know, so we can improve my guesstimate above (still have to subtract dissolution penalty)
3. would you prefer to replay Ouistreham?

Please agree between you and let me know...?

FLASH TO ALL PLAYERS/COMMANDERS:

Molto importante: Remember to save a screenshot of the KIAs screen before ending on Turn 3, or before you kill the enemy's last unit...

Sorry Mike, no salt intended. Poor choice of words by me.
I just copied from the regs where it has the literal meaning of all units killed.
I'm sure you'll kick my butt in Ouistreham, and maybe JC's too, if you decide to return...
'Tis but a flesh wound! ;-)

Thanks for the update PA... Bayeux is tough... JC and I played a shadow Bayeux game, which the Germans won 20-14... Allied BG would have been dissolved, but Germans only had 11 units alive at the end... Plus the 7 unselected in the BG pool, that would only have left 18 units to resist the next wave from the northeast... Taking Bayeux feels difficult. But holding it against two attacking BGs might be even harder... :?: ... Good luck guys!
