Hee hee thanks for the compliment :) Although there wasn't much I could do when a couple transport boats of mine popped up adjacent to the British navy. Aside from serve as target practice I suppose... Still curious what the deal is with the dozen german officers and no german units, but perhaps that is something time will reveal.

The Ramcke FJ Bde arrives during some of the early turns along with a few LW units. The commanders is now sync'ed to this arrival (I hope).

You mean the four paratroopers? That accounts for some of the commanders it's true. Sorry to keep grumbling (feel free to ignore, heh) but another concern is that in neither of the two games I'm playing have I managed to grab more than one airfield. The entirety of the axis airforce being reliant on a single field on the north island poses substantial difficulties, to say the least! One game is the original version of C3 and the other is the new, and in both I'm playing as the axis. With the changes the initial invasion force can cause more difficulties but still has no hope of actually taking and retaining anything. Subsequent forces are either too far north to make their way to airfields, or instantly wiped out.

I really like the Operazione C3 scenario, it has some great potential.

Another feature that has surprised me, while playing both sides, is the main objectives being so different: the allied player has to keep Valletta or Birzebugga, and one airbase (as secondary); while the axis has to occupy all the airfields in the southern island, and destroy all coastal forts as secondary.

And effectively the axis seems to take command of the coastal forts by simple bombardment

I think Erik said he intended the coastal fortress mechanic to work differently. Maybe the gunners get fed up with being bombarded and switch sides :P Like I've said the axis needs all the help it can get though.

If axis forces were deployed in the north rather than south at the start of the operation they'd have a much higher chance of actually surviving, especially if the british fleet were concentrated in the south. Spend the first half with both sides manouvering and concentrating, with minor skirmishes here and there, building to a nice big battle in the centre of the map beginning in the second half of the mission with everything at stake. Something closer to that maybe?

It is possible to offer the Italians 2 selectable sets of para landing locations by using the dialog box (or create random ones).
But the paras need to land somewhere in the south on Malta anyhow.
Maybe I could script the airlanding bde ton (in air transports) mear the first airfield the paras capture (and deactivate all other airfeld options). spaw

I feel bad always complaining so I'll switch to saying how much fun I'm having in Operation Watchtower. Playing as the Japanese and I always love those big navy battles! I have a question though. It says at the beginning I'll get land reinforcements at a town in the west provided there aren't any enemy ships within four spaces. Is there a limit? Are there intervals they arrive at? I stopped getting reinforcements and I'm not sure if it's because there's a sub lurking somewhere or if this is supposed to happen. This seems important so maybe mention it in objectives (a lot of which don't seem to have any real bearing anyway). Mostly I worry I'm wasting ships by having them search for nonexistent subs...

I also have some confusion over objectives but they don't seem to impact gameplay much so I'm not really bothered. For example it says I need to hold tulagi, which is impossible, but I don't lose even after it gets taken by the allied fleet surrounding it. I guess I'm fine so long as I retake it before the turn limit, which is very achievable. There's also talk of protecting a construction unit, which is also impossible, but most of my air force is carrier based so again not that important.

Wachtower is a favourite of mine. I may revisit this as the last version is pretty old now.

It feels pretty good as is so far, although a clarification here or there wouldn't hurt. Then again who knows, maybe mixing things up would make it even more fun :D

Wow, thanks mate! KarisFraMauro, time for a reset! :D

I wonder if a new version will improve the extremely long loading times of the previous one

The longer loading time is mainly due to a large map.

Hmm, well the long loading time isn't really important. I'm definitely curious about those objective changes however! Not that I've played a ton of your maps Erik but Watchtower is seriously threatening to be my favourite. Unfortunately I'm a little distracted by some other games and stuff right now so my turns will be a bit slower than normal Chema.

There are no major changes to the Watchtower objectives, just minor fixes.

I figured as much, more rewording / tweaks than outright alterations. All the objectives seemed fine, I was just a little confused by how they were phrased in certain ways. Oh yeah I almost forgot, I see you have a couple games set up for Watchtower but they're password protected. Waiting for anyone in particular?

I was waiting for Borkospas, but I haven't heard back from him.

The password is Borkospas in case you want to pick up a challenge or two.

Ignore my original post. It is possible to get one of them but it does take very precise planning.

Are you sure the password is Borkospas Erik? I tried it multiple times with no success...

There's no way to check the password after the fact, so I created two new challenges with KarisFraMauro as password.
If you have time to play mirrored games... Or just pick the side you want for one single game.

Market Garden 2.5 still has '2.4' in the scenario details.
