Hello again. A few more anomalies have crept into the results table in the last week or so. I have removed them now. According to my records there are just 4 matches to be completed in your division. They are as follows . . .
cromlechi v tullius
cromlechi v porsenna
kme v solly
epos v tullius
If any of these games have been completed could you please let me know.

I've posted challenges for cromlechi and epos against my HYW English. pw tullius

Div A
iversonjm (Late Republican Roman) 0/36
hidde (Later Carthaginian-in Italy) 0/51
Initiativ: iversonjm
A misclick by iversonjm during map selection had me ending up on a hill.
My fearsome African Spearmen and some added terrain made even the Romans hesitate to attack.
Seeing the elite and superior legionaries took away any notion I might have to leave the safety of the hill.

Haha - you're too kind, sir.
Actually, I thought your sort of 'marching box' formation also rather clever, with visible signs of Xenophon's influence from the Anabasis (Persian Expedition).
Also, as my C-in-C felt in such a hurry (he's leading a lot of Elven armies these days, aswell as recently acquiring a crate of fine ale), the damned fool kept neglecting to set/reset evade rules - which you took full advantage of: I must have lost 3x as many BGs to evading off your table-edge than I got for sacking your camp!

Div A
davouthojo (Abbassid) 37/47 vs 34/32 Fedem (Ghaznavid)
Ghaz won initiative...the abbassid lancers raced for the weak flank, only to have the ghaz elephants slam the door on them! Repulsed, they bounced over to the other side....and with the Dailami winning in the rough, the lancers just managed to do enough to win....could easily have gone the other way.

Div A
davouthojo (Palmyran) 22/44 vs 54/49 ianiow (Bosphoran)
Palmyrans won initiative, a mostly open map with a few gentle hills. The Palmyrans brought an army heavy with cats and MF archers that the Bosphoran/Romans found hard to counter. When they held back, the archers shot them up. When they charged in....well, charging cats is never fun. After getting the worst of 10 turns of archery, the Bosphorans charged in, and despite some unit heroics, the death of their CIC sealed their fate.

I loose against KME but I don't remember the result.
I thought that is a winner's responsability to write the result.

Div A
Iversonjm (WOR Lancastrian) 47/48 v. Davouthojo (WOR something else) 54/54
A crushing and decisive victory. Not. Basically a well-played draw decided by a coin flip.

Off to a good start. Then it was revealed that the Lancastrian archers had brought stakes with them.
Most of the Greek knights stopped in their tracks. Several were nevertheless kept threatening (but not too close) the line of archers
while the rest turned the flank and tried to get behind. The English troops guarding the flank fought like lions and the lead withered to almost nothing.
In the end the Greeks had too many mounted knights and the defenders lost many BG in their defence of the archers.
Meanwhile the Almughavars fought the English spears and did a good job as usual

Unfortunately Finir/Dirk is not well. Hope he gets better.
He has OKd it for me to allocate 3 pts to all players who haven't played him yet.
I have already done the same thing with Nikolax.
2 weeks to go (approx)
Let the mad rush begin
