SawyerK (Ptolemaic 55-30 BC) defeated Eobrian2 (Kushan 130 BC-478 AD) by 53 to 21.

The Ptolemaics used two fringe lines of trees at roughly a right angle to protect their medium troops and positioned their pikes and legionnaires to protect the gaps to good effect. When the Kushan army coaxed out several medium troops from the trees the results were disastrous for the Ptolemaics as the Kushan cataphracts had them fragmented and routed in two turns. But the positional game of the Ptolemaics left them in a superior position to take home the win. Thanks to Eobrian2 for a good game.

Just to be absolutely clear, the deadlines for completion of matches in the Themed Event do actually mean something. They cannot just be ignored. I always write to both players asking for the situation at the deadline - the current score, the number of turns played, and any reasons why each players feels that the match has not been completed. The matches are then adjudicated on the scores at the time of that deadline. So it is no good carrying on with the match and presenting me with a final score 48 hours later. It will not be accepted. And it is also not very helpful to send me the latest score 24 hours before the deadline and then send me nothing more once the deadline has passed.
