A fairly open battlefield. I had the advantage from the initial hit, got my matchups pretty well right and got out to a good lead, but it took an eternity to finish. The Granadines had almost nothing left except light troops, while I had almost no light troops remaning, but eventually I pinned down enough cavalry to get over 60. Thank you for a good game.

syracusans realized too late that the elamites had a missile storm...making an attempt at retreating to high ground, but the elamites were too mobile and darkened the skies with arrows.

this match was tight and dicey until the last turn when the elamite wheelies finally got some flank attacks taking out a phalynx and then a thuro finally succumbed to the missile shelling.

The true Dacians had some luck as all the Carpi generals were killed but the Germanic horse, although outnumbering us significantly, were not equipped with bows. This meant we could keep charging them and not have to worry about shooting casualties. They were also less well armoured than the Sarmatians (with no armour advantage over the warbands). Finally, we managed to draw the Carpi and their allies into an area that had two woods with a gap between them. We used the cavalry to support the warbands and deployed well back. This meant that some of the Germanic cavalry were fighting in unfavourable terrain. We outnumbered the Carpi infantry and took them appart, without the Germanic cavalry being able to interfere. It seemed that luck had a lot to do with it, the Carpi fought well. However, not being true Dacians, they were doomed to die.

Despite my reluctance we eventually came together and hugged it out mano a mano, truly an emotional rollercoaster I shall not soon forget (though I have already forgotten the names of all the fallen Generals).

Again a very difficult battle for the Romans against a very mobile enemy, made up of cavalry and elephants. Although their enemies started strong, the Romans managed to increase their score after taking out the elephants. The light cavalry of the Hephthalites was terribly effective, constantly harassing whoever they could. A very close but fair result.
