For once the damned cavalry struggled to get behind the British and my 'pointy sticks' carried the day, though closer than the score line would suggest.

My Cataphracts, with some support from my light cavalry and foot archers, proved more than a match for his cavalry and the battle was all over before his infantry had time to make a difference.

The Anglos started in a good position, fortifying their longbowmen. I realised a straight out shoot-up with these guys was not in my interest and began to manoeuvre through a narrow swampy pass to try focus on his knights who could not fit in the fort. To my surprise the foe quickly sallied forth, racing to plant his longbows on rough terrain. However the lack of armour on the Welsh longbows made them easy for my horse archers to disrupt and neutralise while my knights had the shock power to easily take on his defensive spears when my own archery caused disrupts. Mongol firepower and mobility won out (with some help from the Armenian infantry). Good game!

I managed to hold off a large portion of his elite cavalry with a small force of raw legionaries and thureophoroi giving my large numbers of pikes and legionaries time to swarm the foe. I got very lucky with my pikes giving a heroic defence buying the time I needed to bring my superior number of infantry into play. Well-played!
