What a hard fought battle. My opponent set up defensively using multiple dismounted knights and cleverly using the wooded terrain to his advantage. I tried to break through using my mounted knights but the casualties started to mount and I was beginning to regret my assault. Perhaps we should have settled for a stand off and a draw? But over time I made some break throughs, although I missed not having decent tough infantry to winkle him out of built up areas and the like. In the end I just got the victory, although it really could have been either of us victorious. What a slog. What a great battle.

Both armies were successful in holding the enemy's flanking movement, but with some advantage to the Roman army that the flank countering the cavalry was able to get through hills and forest to flank the Ptolemaic infantry

Rafydedel Arab (City) 300-633 AD defeats random27 Indo-Parthian 60 BC-130 AD + Indian 500 BC-319 AD allies 60-44

A big difficult hill was towering the center of the map, offering a promontory to the Indian bowmen, but also somewhat limiting the movements of the indo parthian cavalry which was therefore mostly concentrated on the right of my opponent, which was more open.. Arabs had spread their troops on a wide front, and shaked a bit when they saw two pairs of elephants coming out of the forest on each side of the hill. Initial lucky shots on elephants led the arab foot to believe they could rush to finish them off, and were for a bad surprise when both of them recovered.

Indo-parthian could destroy the arab center with their elephants, but many bedouin charges also took a toll on the units there, and on the wings, the Arab got the upper hands , in particular and a bit against the odd, in the cavalry fights.

Bref, à la fin, y avait pas mieux que les bédouins.
