Division A

Nosferatu [Croatian] defeats Darkwater247 [Frankish+Bretons] 62-48

A large stream seperated the two sides down the middle, but traveled south near the Croatian right, so the Croatians took the opportunity to cross with half of the army as soon as possible, only to be met by a Frankish cavalry ambush from a nearby forest. Having fought off the ambush, they managed to defeat part of the Frankish force then the rest of their enemy was surrounded, but fought bitterly to the end. Good game to my opponent, thanks.


That concludes my first championship outing, happy to report being undefeated (8 wins and 1 draw), despite fears of being moved up to division 3 on my first outing. It was not a one-sided affair, only two battles ended at the 40 point mark so all my opponents put up a stiff fight.

After the initial arrow storm this turned into a tough and close contest where the alternating mix of charges and pursuits added to the uncertainty as both sides led at different points. Victory was only clinched on the final turn when a multi formations fight including fragmented units and others charging in ended decisively and fortuitously in the Mongol's favour. A great and thoroughly enjoyable battle.

DIVM [Armenians + Byzantines] defeats Darkwater247 [Frankish+Bretons].

Result: 49-24

Right flank of the armenian infantry + cavalray hit hard and fast, while the center held against the Frankish troops. Good game from Darkwater247, that had to move quickly his right flank, and would my attack have taken any longer, the result could've been very different.

The Romans initially defended, there were were so many cavalry facing them, and just before contact, with the sun glinting off their scales, one of the Roman Centurians called out: By the Gods, they look so pretty!

This was too much for the rank and file, and a headlong charge erupted across the whole Roman Front, it was madness.
Glorious Madness. And it worked.
