This battle started well with the archery and speed of the chariots giving em the edge but my infantry generals liked enemy spears a little too much and the tough lydian hoplites ground it back. A few tight fights going my way gave me the win. Thanks for the game.

The horsemen struggled badly against the Hittite chariots, clearly showing the superior methods . The infantry clash was more even but the Gascan warriors and reinforcing chariots made a couple of holes in the Urartian line to claim victory. Thanks for the game.

The roman cavalry struggled against it's gothic counterparts which gave my warbands room to get in around the flanks of the legions, the roman discipline not able to last such pressure. A cagey left flank was slowly turning against me as the game ended but it was too late. Thanks for the game

Without any Ango-Irish lights and little maneuverable cavalry, the Latins were able to use their own to distract some longbows while assaulting a hill.

SawyerK leading the Egyptian 1149 to 1069 BC army defeated

Nonovitch and his Assyrian 745 to 705 BC army with NeoHittite ally

by 46 to 14.

The battlefield was complex with multiple hills, patches of wood on the side of each force as well as fortifications. On contact, the Assyrians used arrow fire to take out much of the Egyptian Light Foot but the Sherdan Swordsmen closed right behind them to engage in the center and on the right most hill. After a fierce fight, the Egyptians won the right hill and but took serious arrow fire in the center where the Assyrians clung to their own hill on the Egyptian left flank. The Assyrian Heavy Chariots were initially stymied by the line of their own Medium Foot and thus came under arrow fire from Egyptian Massed Archers from the central hill. Weakened, the Chariots were later unsuccessful in their direct assaults on the Egyptian Medium Foot when a path was finally cleared for them.

After initially refusing contact on the left, the Sherden Swordsmen swung out from a wood accompanied by two Light Chariots and forced their way towards the Assyrian hill. During that segment of the battle, the Egyptians finally reached a tipping point in the score. My compliments to Nonovitch for a well fought and exciting game!
