A strange map with difficult mountains and lake in the middle that actually didn't suit either side since both had lots of heavy infantry and half of the time our main lines were static then met at the foot of the mountins. The Germans split their forces and broke formation too soon, allowing the Croatians to surround and defeat them. Thanks for the good game.

Andersarcos (Gallic) draws with rexhurley (numbian) 58/43 (note I was at 58 if that isn't clear, I wasn't quite sure how to post this one)

Anders played really well and patiently at the start drawing me into his lair, bursting out my troops panicked and fragged badly as they saw some friends rout early. backwards and forwards the battle swirled with many of anders units on the cusp of breaking (think sup cav 102/244....) but nope couldnt do it so with 5 turns to go I had to think of survival and just avoided the evade traps he kept setting. In the last turn I had another go at trying to break some more units to get Anders into the 50s but nope, thankfully it didnt cost me completely.

Well played sir, that's my first loosing draw with this army.

The Roman/Franks with heavy cavalry superiority opened with a powerful drive on the left to get around the facing woods into the rear of the massed ranks of enemy infantry. The opposition cavalry did a sterling job of holding them but were eventually undone by the follow up infantry support who also achieved local superiority over the Roman infantry moving to intervene. A hard fought battle developed, with the enemy light cavalry on the other flank getting into the Roman/Franks rear but the advantage gained through the initial assault combined with favourable combat outcomes proved decisive. Thanks for a good battle.

DIVM (Roman + Iberan allies) defeats WASP8498 (Pontic) with a result of: 61-42.

Roman center quickly defeated the Pontic phalanxes and some lighter infantry partly thanks to superior numbers and being situated in a small slope, and partly luck. The fight in the flanks was very tough against some elite phalanxes and cavalry (most of the roman cavalry was routed quickly). Eventually the troops from the center were able to assist the flanks and win the battle.
