Division 4

Ironclad (Roman 285-312 AD with Frankish allies) defeated Indibil (Roman 379-424 AD with Germanic Foot Tribes allies) 62-46

Great battle which saw these two well matched armies fight a long and hotly contested encounter which gradually extended across the full width of the field before finally the Roman/Franks achieved decisive success thanks to several critical cavalry actions and the eventual breakthrough of their main infantry line.

A bad day at the office for Seleucus. Nasty terrain for pikes and generals falling from their horses with alarming regularity.

Eric Doman has withdrawn from TDC while recovering from surgery. We will not replace him, and I hope you'll will all join me in wishing him well. We wouldn't be playing these games without him.

My Mamluks defeated mh5064s Florentines 48% vs 63%

Good game with a large difficult hill dominating the battlefield, luckily the Florentines committed a lot of their missile troops to taking the hill, leaving my Horse archer unmolested and able to pick off the more expensive Florentines!

Two results

Triarii Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202BC w Numidian allies defeats oscarius Spartan 221-146BC w Roman allies score 50-9

And

Triarii Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202BC w Numidian allies defeats random27 Parthian 250BC-225AD w Seleucid 166-125BC allies score 53-28

In the first game Spartan pikes were tangled up trying to thread through patches of rough terrain, populated with LI and good MI, long enough for the Spartan right flank to be overwhelmed by elephants and superior cavalry.

In the second a billiard table map allowed Numidian LC to dance about holding up a strong Parthian right but at high cost while veteran Italians and veteran Libyan spears supported by elephants eventually overwhelmed the Parthian left.
Thanks to my opponents for two great games.

Division D

Jorgito78 Roman 105-25BC w Bithynian 297-74BC allies
defeats:

Vakarr Thracian (Gatae) 279BC-46AD w Greek 227-146BC allies

Result: 42 - 6

Thracian masses of aggressive, yet not disciplined, warriors proved to be no match for Roman Legionaire's superior training and discipline. Once again, Roman Legions win the day for the glory of Rome.

Alexmike1 Parthian 250BC-225AD w Seleucid 166-125BC allies beat SawyerK Antigonid 320-301BC w Greek 460-281BC allies 65-26

The Antigonids deployed in a dense block mostly on their own extreme left. This meant a fair bit of redeploying was needed by the Parthians. The Parthian horse archers eventually forced the enemy to move forth from their positions. At this point the cataphracts and their Seleucid allies managed to get the better of the melee.

Thanks for an interesting (and fast paced) game.

Division 4 result
RussellGardener1964 German (Imperial) beat Meroka37 Catalan 1050-1154 by 44-0

I was able to hold the high ground on my left, my opponent charged me at a height disadvantage. On the right flank I was able to charge with knights at right angles to his line. He adjusted to face my charge, but by moving up my centre the hammer and anvil made short work of his infantry.

Kind regards
Russ
