General Shapur wrote: Sat Jun 15, 2019 2:57 am Actually, thats a good point. Perhaps an army taking allies can be handicapped by a number of points to make up for the added flexibility. Thus people may need to consider if that flexibility is worth it.
No, I definitely do not want to go in that direction. How would you decide how many points to deduct for a particular ally?

Two other things have happened with regards banter since my original post on the subject. Firstly, one player has put 2 screenshots up, which is taking up an enormous amount of space. As a moderator I am able to edit posts but it is not possible for me to remove the second screenshot without also removing the first one. So please just stick to one screenshot please. Secondly, a losing player has posted a screenshot of his match so now there are 2 posts about the same match. I cannot have that I'm afraid as it messes up my counting as I scan up and down threads to make sure that I have got the tables right. So those sort of posts will disappear after 3 days or so.

Is anyone currently playing dkalenda? If so please inform him he is close to forfeiting a game. He appears to have had forgotten he's playing me and is going to go over the 7 day period of no play. Dkalenda if you are out there I will give you another day to play or I will claim the game.

Cheers
Martin

Yes, if you are going away for a week or so then you must let your opponents know otherwise they can claim the match under Rule 6.

Also, if you have received too many challenges to cope with at the start of the tournament then all you need to do is PM your opponent and tell them you will start the match as soon as you have a free slot. Please see the Players' Guide.

Geffalrus (Polish and Vikings) defeats MorkinTheFree (Romano-British) 43-7

Morkin and I agreed at the start of the game, while we were wrapping up the Antigonid/Pyrrhic slugfest, to keep detailed notes of our thoughts and plans for each turn of the game. Which was a cool idea. The battle was shaping up to be a slow race between his warbands (could the kill my shieldwalls) and my Vikings (could they kill his subRomans) on opposite flanks, until my Polish cavalry spotted a flanking opportunity and exploited the below average morale of the SubRoman Foot to rout multiple units in a line. Condolences to my worthy opponent who saw entire sections of his battle line vanish in a horrific chain rout.

The confusing situation of a Polish army actually having quality infantry.

The french are met, caught in a deep stream facing elephants and grenadiers - KiFi, you are a good sport to press the advance in true impetuous French fashion.

harveylh - Arab (Umayyad) 685-750 AD (no allies) defeats Cunningcairn - Viking 900-1049 AD (Irish ally), 41-8.

Dailami inf were too much for Viking Berserkers and a relatively open battlefield made the Arab Lancers even more effective. Tough map for the Vikings.
