It could be that the game evaluates Major/Minor Victory first, sees the secondary objective is still open, then says "Minor Victory" but when it closes out the scenario, it ends Turn 28 and that, finally, is the "Scenario turn limit." Hence the green check.
If it's not some mix-up with the texts in the settings, I think it's EXACTLY as you've observed/described. I'm quite sure I've ran into this at least once before. Only happens if the scen ends on the very last turn.

You have to make sure to not mess up the conditions and trigger events. And internally, I think that even the order of the triggers (which comes first in the list) may have influence on the execution.
No, I checked the mission outcome texts - they are fine - and Yes, I now think it would be best to not use "Scenario turn limit" for secondary objectives; not, at least, if the primary objectives can end the scenario sooner.

In the Germany West 1944 CSI sweep thread, I just proposed one way to address the situation where a reward needs to be given for a "hold this hex" or "don't lose X units" secondary objective that is marked completed from the beginning. Basically, it's "Check the primary objective first; if it's completed, then immediately process this secondary objective trigger, evaluate the condition, and if it's still okay, give up the goods!"

Now that we know "Scenario turn limit" is quite literal, I think the only time that it can be used for secondary objective triggers is when ALL of the primary objective triggers are also set for "Scenario turn limit."

Started Germany West 1939 - 1940 again. First scenario, Poznan, the first objective is marked as a red "X" right form the start of the scenario. Once you capture it, it is fine, but thought I would let you know...

Sure enough, it fails just as soon as the player clicks to end the Deployment Phase:

That's because this condition is set for Turn = 1 instead of "Scenario turn limit":

Just finished US Corps 43-44 - Can I export my core forces over to US Corps 44-45?? Or are these custom campaigns NOT linked up that way???? Did not think to try when I went from 42-43 over to 43-44 so I thought would look in to it now.... I did try just now to do the carry over and does not seem to work - so I assume Erik did not design them to do so??????

I could carry over my forces from US Corps 42-43 to 43-44 without problems.

The only "downside" is, that the game also imports all unlocked specs together with the units. The usual reward in Eriks campaigns are spec points, which I can not use anymore in US Corps 43-44 as all specs were unlocked after the first mission. I'm on the third/fourth scen right now and have about 48 spec points... I REALLY could use some more RP rewards and/or more cash between missions.

Thanks Gabe! I did save my core from US 43-44..... but when I start 44-45 it does NOT prompt for import - there IS a black circle in the army cores flag in the army cores - specializations - diificulty
tabs but when click on it comes up empty of my prior units....???? Hmmmmmmm????

Gabe's right, tula. Let's look at a primer, shall we?

First, you don't need to know this but this is the tab in the Campaign Editor in which Erik provides for importing a core from the 42-43 campaign. I don't think that it's a strict requirement, but it might help if the core that you saved from that campaign were named "US Forces":

Screenshot 10.jpg
Screenshot 10.jpg (353.69 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

So in the first scenario of the 42-43 campaign, I created a coterie of personal followers, all highly experienced despite being recruits:

Screenshot 1.jpg
Screenshot 1.jpg (380.35 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

At the end of the 42-43 campaign, I clicked the Army Cores button, then Export Core:

Screenshot 2.jpg
Screenshot 2.jpg (406.56 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

I named it "US Forces" and clicked Save (the default folder is C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Cores):

Screenshot 3.jpg
Screenshot 3.jpg (383.51 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

At the beginning of the 43-44 campaign, it senses the core file and asks this question:

Screenshot 4.jpg (359.08 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

If you say "Yes," this screen pops up automatically; I highlighted the file and clicked "Load":

Screenshot 5.jpg
Screenshot 5.jpg (336.11 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

My "Martyrs for Bru" core is loaded and at 50% of their former experience, as Erik stipulated in the Campaign Editor:

Screenshot 6.jpg
Screenshot 6.jpg (358.24 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

They're ready for deployment at Gela:

Screenshot 7.jpg
Screenshot 7.jpg (408.96 KiB) Viewed 2220 times

To Gabe's point, all of the specialisations that I bought as I nuked my way through the 42-43 campaign came with the core as well:

Screenshot 8.jpg
Screenshot 8.jpg (369.79 KiB) Viewed 2220 times
Screenshot 9.jpg

I cannot see anyway around this, however. There is no setting in the Campaign Editor to remove such acquired specialisations (or commanders; I think they get imported, too). It's tough for the designer; if he cuts back on the specialisation points given per turn and awarded as prizes, and the campaign is NOT played as one in a series, then he short-changes the player. If he provides enough specialisation points to completely fulfill the available specialisations tree in the current campaign, then he makes meaningless the specialisation points acquired in the next campaign.

There should be an option in the Campaign Editor to wipe out previously acquired specialisations when importing a core, just like one can cut back on or remove experience altogether. I know just the man who can and should ask for this improvement. ;)

Thanks for the step by step primer Bru! Did exactly as you indicated but am NOT getting the prompt for the core at the start of the 44-45 new campaign... Exported the core at the end of 43-44 and saved it as "US Forces" - and it is not sensing that saved .cor file …. the first time I tried it I had not used that specific name for the saved file so thought would try your thought that it might like it if I did use "US Forces"....No dice...????? Hmmmmmm??? I will not bother to post screen shots as they look identical to yours Except for the one which shows the new campaign asking if you wish to import core......

Please do that. Maybe there is a clue.

I think the core name 'US Forces' need to be the same in all campaign set-ups. The players may rename their own cores to whatever.
Otherwise it would be a bit difficult for the player to know what name to give the core without checking in te campaign editor first.

The specialisations being carried over is a problem that the campaign designer simply have no fix for.
Personally I think it would be better if no specialisations were carried over.
The designer would then simply decide which specialisations are already checked at campaign start, probably depending on the year.
Or give the player enough free spec points to purchase at start.
It is important for the player to be able to purchase units with some experience, especially in later campaigns. At least mine as I give the AI units exp depending on the year.

Bebro, please take this spec issue up with the devs if you're reading :D

US44-45 core import

Bru - per request here are the screen shots of the import fail sequence! These take us through the ending of the 43-44 campaign and in to the start of the 44-45 campaign - as you can see no prompt for the import comes up when going in to the new campaign, and once the first scenario starts there is nothing in the reserve forces list....

On another note - went ahead and hit Omaha beach without being able to import my core.... Victory was triggered and scenario ended when I took the 4th objective instead of waiting for me to take the 5th and final one - as can see in the shot the Germans are still holding the last one!

Just to confirm that I am doing core export/import properly I just nuked my way through the Blitzkrieg campaign, saved my core, and went on into the Panzerkrieg campaign - and it DID prompt me for the core import as it should.....So I AM doing the import/export the right way..... Can only assume that there must be a glitch in the 43-44 campaign editing that is not allowing the export to happen properly???? Can someone nuke their way through 43-44 and try export/import over to 44-45 and see what they get????

Won't work. It's a copy/paste error with the US44-45 campaign. Erik, see screenshot:
