I think yoare right after all.
Actually I have such a card. Didn't realised you could use it to help another player. That's why I got confused at the mention of an ally.
As you know I'm fighting on five fronts  so I have to chose carefully where to use my cards. Remember that I still have one and a third battle can be tougher then you bargained for

Bah, we are tired of only fighting defensive wars. Now is the time to go on the offensive!
Besides, all the beverages containing alcohol is gone after constant celebrating in the streets after our victories.
With a neighbour like Clan Brave who can resist? DOW and the target will be Lagavulin, a long time favorite. This will be a SoA invasion.
While we're at it why not stop on the way and conquer something in Nervii as well? We're letting the Nerviinans themselves chose what region to hand over.

Ahh, however, appears that if i play a second heart, if it comes to that, it trumps your club.....

Uh, why is a wargame begining to feel like a game of 45's or Spades :?

You must have dependable allies...with more than one hearts.
Now, how about doing the setup for our game so I can do mine and get on with it

I dont know what you Nordics do all day but over here we must work long grueling hours for the man, before we are allowed to go home and enage in things like FOG :D

I will get the turn sent in a couple hours (actually tried to do it this morning before work but kids etc got in the way)

Cheers!

Work? Never heard of 8) Actually I work very unregular. Right now for example I'm free from last tuesday till next tuesday.
What I'll do with the free time? Play FoG, of course!
If more than a couple of hours go by I get withdrawal symptoms...
Alas, a couple of hours from now will be well past midnight. Who knows, if turns from other games start dropping in I might very well be up :D

Slitherine appears to be having some sort of server or network issues that keep resulting in errors about not being able to connect to the smtp server. So the problem may not be on your end. I've gotten these both for posts to the forum as well as for PMs. It looks like the forum posts and PMs are actually getting sent correctly despite the error message. Easiest way to check is to look in the forum or in your out mail box to verify that the post is where it should be.

I have been getting the same error when sending PM's but the message goes through anyway (it appears in the outbox).

Im glad its a slitherine issue. I just changed ISP at the same time as getting these error messages so I thought it was TalkTalk's fault!

ps, im getting time out error messages when sending turns too, but pressing cancel seems to send them anyway.

Yes, I'll continue despite whatever losses. Might as well. (If an ally has a heart card free I can use it!! )

Will wait to hear from PG on numbers.

Can't send PMs myself - so for Scar and Peter, I'm defending Turnacum and will rather quickly put the second invader (hidde) in his place. Rawr.

Slowly trying to catch up now - sorted my connection issues (I can play WoW & FoG again - I've been shamefully withdrawn without them!) but didn't realise there was also an issue with Slitherine. PM's are taking an age to go out.

I'll do the new army sizes post recent battles first.

Thanks for the voting / bid PM's - voting & bids are still open if you haven't done so already. Not yet sure when we can do the quiz as it is PM dependant.

There were some earlier posts about how many battles in an area. It takes 2 wins for an attacker to force the defender out of an area. You can fight more than 2 battles in order to achieve this but with 500 point armies after 2 such battles there is often little left - so a win each for instance may not leave enough for a 3rd battle. However I can't give an absolute ruling on this because event cards may reinforce one or both armies (or a different card may reduce an army).

I merely want to stop a player from hanging on in an area when they have clearly lost the campaign hence the only rule is that the defender may not continue if the attacker wins twice.

If you both win a battle it is unfair for me to impose a rule that there cannot be a 3rd battle.

Hope that makes sense.

I also had some PM discussion with one of you about an ally playing their Bless an Ally card on you but have since discovered, now that they have made themselves known to me, that they have not got a heart card - so beware of such offers (a mistake on his part). Unless I PM you to say you have been sent reinforcements please do not add to your army size.

Hunting tour now organizing

Following last seasons popular hunting tour for panther skins which was not as successful as it might have been, we now see that the revolting peasants have a province that sounds promising for a new source of skins. A new hunting tour is departing shortly for the area of Furius in search of furs and perhaps a few peasant heads for the wall as well.

Is that not the triumph of hope over experience

Surely with clever use of event cards someone is going to the pantherites - of course he may also play a clever event card :?

Good luck anyway - the gods are watching eagerly.

Sending the reduced armies fiugres out now.

Please note with regard to Parthia - a player's capital area may not be touched until all other areas are lost. Dahae is still part of Parthia I believe.

Arrh

Rome is not pleased at recent turns of events.. why have the Gods cursed us the season?

rioting citizens in the streets
iliterate allies that send prophylactics to our embattled armies instead of reinforcements
unread or ignored diplomatic overtures to others..

In times like these one might as well have more enemies, beware oh Horde...

****************
Peter please pm me my AP for the battle with Ironclad so i can get that over with, actually just post mine here, it matters not I think there is an issue w your last pm to me, was all messed up...

Hidde: sorry, our battle now appears to be ilegal and must be stopped.....I'll just isue a new chaleenge or let me know if you want to discus ....

A big thank-you to Crimea and Canaan

Clan Brave thanks the Empire of Crimea and Canaan for their warm and courteous welcome to the Lost World.

We will meet Canaan on the plains of Cragganmore and Crimea in the vale of Glenlivet.

We also would like to let potential invaders that we have agreed defensive alliances with The Covenanter Empire, Septia and the Carthaginian Empire.
We will regard their enemies as our enemies. We will not take part in their wars of oppression however.

We will bathe our claymores in the blood of enemies trying to take away our freedom!
