Can I just confirm - (a) do heavy and medium guns have to deploy first, and (b) do they have to avoid being able to fire into the flank zones?

(I have looked back through the thread and couldn't see anything on this.)

No, they deploy when you want:
Deploying: can't see why not with firing into the flank, means all those warriors in the centre breathe a sigh of relief!

They've both been included in a lot of competitions this year. I think the idea behind them is to stop ahistorical bullying of 4 base mounted units in their normal flank positions - as there are very few mounted units, they would seem to be redundant for Sunday's bash.

That's kind of why I didn't write the rules in, I get a feeling lancers may take a more central or supporting role anyway.
As to artillery deployment order, lots of lists would have to be altered if I added rules now, I'm trying not to cause headaches now...
